Outside the building, Coyote informs Red Scout of a mission for him to do, a basic delivery mission for Officer Flint. Red Scout runs off in the direction Coyote pointed to so he could meet with Officer Flint. Standing several feet away from the exit gate of the Out Break zone is a Police Officer who is talking to several other Super Heroes and pointing them into all different directions. Red Scout walks to the Police Officer and looks at his tag which was inscribed with Officer Flint.
“Officer Flint I’m Red Scout, Coyote sent me to see you about a mission.” says Red Scout.
“Alright Red Scout, I need you to take this package with infected blood of the Contaminated gang members to Doctor Miller at the medical labs down the street,” Officer Flint says as he hands the package to Red Scout and points to the new looking building.
With package in hand, Red Scout heads down the street towards the medical laboratory. As he gets closer, Red Scout sees there is a man in a white lab coat pacing back and forth with his arms crossed with the look of impatience on his face. The man glances at his wristwatch every few seconds as if something was late.
“Doctor Miller?” calls out Red Scout. The man in the white lab coat jerks his head in the direction of Red Scout’s voice. “I have a package for you Doctor.”
“Oh good!” exclaims the Doctor. “I’ve been waiting all morning long for these blood samples!”
“What are they for?” asks Red Scout.
“My assistance and I are hoping to finish our antidote for the infection that is running rampant in this zone.” Dr. Miller replies. “Please, give my gratitude to Officer Flint for me.”
“Will do, see ya later Doctor.” Red Scout reaches to his head with his right hand and nods as if he were tipping an imaginary hat. With that Red Scout turns and makes his way back to Officer Flint.
Back at Officer Flint, Red Scout reports that the job is done. “Excellent, I got a new person for you to meet,” Officer Flint says as he hands Red Scout an envelope. “Take this to Officer Miller; he’ll inform you of what you need to do now. So long Red Scout and take care.” Red Scout and Officer Flint exchange goodbyes and Red Scout heads in the direction Officer Flint pointed out.
The sun is high in the air giving the impression that it was a little after noon. Standing at the entrance corner of a parking lot is another Police Officer. Walking up to him, Red Scout holds out the envelope he was giving and speaks up to grab the attention of the Police Officer. “Officer Miller, this envelope is for you.”
“Red Scout, right? Officer Flint radioed to me that you were on your way.” Officer Miller says as he takes the envelope from Red Scout. He pulls out a knife from his pocket to cut it open and begins to read the letter inside “Well it seems the good Doctor needs more blood samples from the Contaminated gang. Red Scout I need you to do me a favor, I need you to go into the gated off area and arrest 2 members of the Contaminated Gang, that should be enough for the Doctor to work with.”
“Consider it done.” Red Scout shouts back to Officer Miller as he runs to the entrance to the gated area.
At the entrance of the gate stand 2 more Police Officers in SWAT uniforms, Red Scout nods to them as he passes them and surveys the area before him. Everywhere Red Scout looked there was rubble on the ground, over turned cars and isolated areas of fire. Echoing from the distance were the hoots and hollers of the Contaminated gang that owned this part of the area.
Several yards in, human shaped shadows flicker on the walls of the buildings surrounding Red Scout. Red Scout began to doubt himself just as a voice calls out behind him, “You just made a big mistake.” Red Scout turns to the voice just as a rock his him in the face causing him to stumble backwards in pain. Laughter erupts as Red Scout shakes off the hit; he balls up his left hand and the Fire Sword bursts from it. Sword in hand, Red Scout charges at the 2 Contaminated members standing on top of a pile of rubble, with one swing he drops the closest standing guy to the ground. The second grabs a bat and slams it down on Red Scout’s back making him stumble forward. Red Scout turns to the second guy and punches him with both hands on fire using Scorch on Contaminated member which makes him fall to the ground.
Red Scout reaches down and begins to drag both members towards the entrance but they fade away. Bewildered, Red Scout immediately runs to Officer Miller and questions him about both members disappearing.
“Oh don’t worry about that Red Scout, that’s our teleportation system at work.” Officer Miller begins, “Every person you arrest will be teleported to jail for your convenience, but it only works when they are unconscious. Also if you so happen to go unconscious or, heaven forbid, actually die in the line of duty we can also teleport you to the Hospital to bring you back.”
“So I can’t die?” Red Scout asks in quizzically.
“Well, technically no. Though you do need a special chip inside of your Super Hero attire in order for us to teleport you, without it, we won’t be able to find you and well… you’ll stay dead.” replies Officer Miller. “I suggest you take a visit to the ICON shop in Steel Canyon so you can receive an outfit specifically tailored to you and has the chip inside. Now that you have done what I’ve asked you to do, I suggest you go see Coyote. He should have something for you to do.”
With that said, Red Scout and Officer Miller exchange goodbye’s as Red Scout heads off to see Coyote again.
