Story Arc: The Tsoo Coup
Description:
Hinkley says, "Warren Trudeau just got back to me. He's ID'd all the buildings in those blueprints you found on the Tsoo. Three of them are front companies for Family operations. The other two are over on Talos island. they're empty right now, which maked them perfect meeting places for the Warriors.
It looks like The Tsoo are planning a major hit on both the Family and the Warriors. [your toon], get out there and stop the Tsoo from taking over all the gangs of Paragon City!"
This is the fourth and final mission of Hinkley's story arc, The Tsoo Coup.
The mission reward may look like a lot, but it's a long mission with five instanced maps.

When you accept the mission, Hinkley has this to say:
| QUOTE | | See if you can get some more heroes to help you with this one. I am afraid that if the Tsoo are successful, Tub Ci will be mayor of Paragon City tomorrow. |
This is a five-part mission, with multipe indoor maps. They are in Independence Port, Steel Canyon and Talos Island - all three zones in which Tsoo can normally be found. If you use your free mission drop during this mission, you will only clear the current map and advance to the next one. It's big, but not as dangerous as Hinkley thinks it is. Most heroes can solo this with no trouble.
The first map is a warehouse in Independence Port. You have two goals here - bust gang leaders and their crews; and unlock the back room.
This map is not as large as the previous mission. It has about equal numbers of Family and Tsoo. However, even on Heroic, there will be a Sorcerer in most of the Tsoo groups. Most of the bad guys will be a level lower than you are used to, with just a few of your usual level foes. This is normal for this mission and it will continue through all five maps.
The first thing you need to do is get the keys to the back room. To do this, you just need to find a glowie. It looks like a desk. There should only be two doors in the mission. One of them can't be opened without the key. You will find the glowie behind the other door.
Once you have the key, you can unlock the locked door. You don't have to fight anything up to this point if you don't want to. Just wipe out everything past this door.
You will recieve 1 1/2 times your usual mission bonus when you exit the warehouse.
The second map is an office building in Stell Canyon. This map seems to have the same objectives (bust gang leaders, their crews - unlock the back door), but it works a little differently. This time, one of the Family groups has the key. If you are sneaking around and looking for the key, then watch what the Family mobs say. The one with the key will say "They'll never get their hands on Tony as long as I've got the key." Defeat his group and you've got the key.
Unlock the door and wipe out everything beyond it, and you're done with this map.
Once again, you recieve 1 1/2 times your usual mission bonus as you exit the office building.
The third map is another warehouse, this time in Talos Island. This time, your objectives are to bust the gang leaders and their crews, unlock the back room and disarm a bomb. This one works more like the first map. There are two closed doors. One is locked, and the key is behind the other, in another glowing desk.
The bomb is somewhere behind the locked door. It looks like a few sticks of dynamite with a clock wired to them. Find this glowie and wipe out everything behind the locked door.
Once again, as you exit the map, you get 1 1/2 times your usual mission bonus, for a total of 4 1/2 times your usual bonus so far.
The fourth map is also in Talos Island. You are done with the Family, though. This map combines Tsoo and Warriors. Your objective this time is to simply wipe out the gang leaders and their crews. There is no key to find and no door to open. Just get to the back room and wipe out everything in it.
Once again, you get 1 1/2 times your usual mission bonus after you exit the warehouse.
Now you can advance to the fifth and final instance of this mission. This is an office building full of Tsoo and Warriors. This time, you have a different objective. In addition to defeating the gang leaders, you also have to find and rescue six hostages.
The hostages are the easy kind. You just have to defeat their guards. You don't have to escort them out. However, they can be anywhere on the map and this map has a few sneaky hiding places. Make sure you don't miss any open office doors, hidey holes under stairs and so forth. They are all named "Office Worker," so you can make your search easier with this macro:
| CODE | | /macro Hostage \"target_name Office Worker\" |
This macro creates a button in your power tray. When you hit this button, you will automatically target the nearest person named "Office Worker," as long as you are in range and facing the right direction.
Defeating the leaders once again means clearing a single room, but this time the definition of a room is a little fuzzy and involves a bit of the hallway. If you start from the back and work your way forward, you'll get all the mobs that count pretty quickly. Of course, if you choose to clear the entire map, this is not a problem.
Once again, on your way out, you recieve 1 1/2 times your usual mission bonus, for a grand total of 7 1/2 times your usual mission bonus. If you cleared every map, you have earned it!
Now you may finally return to Hinkley and see what he has to say about all this. You have also finished the story arc and can choose a dual origin enhancement to sell. (Who uses them at this level?) |
