Eden Trial Trial

Eden
Woodsman
Contact:Woodsman
Location:Eden
Main Enemy:varius
Archvillain:none
Level to Attend:39-41
Minimum Teammates:6 (total)

Here's the 4-1-1 on this. Just did it recently with a good team and passed with flying colors.

Mission 1:

Kill 200 Devouring Earth. That's easily done in the entrance area of Eden, or further back at the "drop point" if you have the Eden portal in your base mission. The "drop point" is actually right next to The Woodsman, and the eventual entrance to the final cave.

Mission 2:

Defeat the Crystal Titan (4 hour timed mission), Save Heroes (4). People try to rush through this and I have to say thats a mistake, to a certain point. This cave is unique by the fact that you drop down holes in the ground, and that advances you, after about 4 drop through , to the final board. I personally took the far left hole in the first room that has them, and just dropped down the consecutively falling holes. The best travel power to use in this case would be flight, since it ensures no damage received for falling (as a tank, I hit the side of a wall while falling and it brought me down to about 100 health). The drop points usually have no creatures directly nearby. A great thing to do in this area is have someone with invisible, and teleport, and fly (not required though) to teleport the team down from one hole to the next. Do this all the way down unto the final cave, which is noticeable by it's large expanses, arcing bridges, and bubbling dark green acid (-35HP per second for a auto-exemped fire/ice tank). Be careful in this room though, as near the roof there are big spawns of Swarms, which are there to ensure you don't fly near the roof. Swarms have a power called "Sting" which has a -Speed, -Fly, and -Teleport adverse effect on team members. This equals bad juju for your non-tank flyer's on team as "Boom" they fall to the ground from up high, taking falling damage and oh no, they are in the middle of an enemy mob. Time to move on out, your fight now is against the Rock wall, which is a Arch-Villain that sits there and let's you beat on it, while it randomly spawns a load of "Rock based" DE at one time to try thwarting your plans of defeating it. Easily done with the tank on taunt watch, and as the team swaps between the AV and the minions. Rock wall killed. Once in this room, it's best to kill everything, ESPECIALLY the Greater DE bosses. Those are the ONLY enemy in this map (don't worry about the rest further up in the previous caves, they didn't drop much) that will drop the much needed AMBROSIA, or grapes as they are abbreviated. The Ambrosia are to be used only against the Crystal Titan, who has a foot smash (used often), and a upper flyer based attack that I call the "flash beam" that will deal 2k damage unless you've eaten a grape. More about him later.

Now, when you have cleared the room of all the bosses, which 2/3's of them won't have dropped a grape to the non-damagers on the team, should have given the damage dealers on the team collectively about 10-20 grapes (if ya got lucky). Just have your teleporter TP you to the right spots. In this case the right spot would be right before the you get to an enemy called "Lichen" (if I remember correctly). These things spawn enemies, and they look like growths on the rock outcroppings just before the next AV wall, called "The Mold Wall". This area, kill all the Lichens, then kill the wall, which will do the same thing as the previous wall (spawn random "Fungus based" mobs). Kill the same way as before.

This way to the Titan please. So now you've entered the Titans lair, you see an expanse of Crystal beings all over the place, so how do you know which one is him? Easy enough, as he stands on a pillar in the center of the room, is grey, and would make Babbage look like a child comparatively, in height. You don't have to kill his whole room, but it is smart to kill all the crystal beings that are in the "moat" around his rock. Prepare to have some ambushes on the rock wall looking over his moat at his rock platform. Wait until the ambushes stop, then head around behind where the Titan is. You'll see a room with 4 pillar looking prisons. This is where the Hero's you need to save are, just beat the room, then beat the doors, which suck to fight because they are just above ground level so you have to jump to hit them, and now you are ready for the Titan. Don't worry about the heroes, as you can't lure the Titan to them.

Crystal Titan strategy:

If you have a Rad/Rad defender, or */Rad controller, they will stay out of the Crystal Titans sight while maintaining their powers on him. No Line of Sight (LOS) on them makes them less easy to hit. The tank will pop a grape at this point, and jump in at the Crystal Titan (who does paltry damage when a grape is eaten). If there's a scrapper, he's going to do the same thing, pop a grape and rush in. If you have blasters, make sure they stay way far ranged and attack. Make sure the tank knows that when his grape starts "flashing" (fading), he needs to pop another, same for the scrappers. Basically it's just a beat the poop out of him job now.

A tip for Flying characters: Flight above his knees at about mid thigh level and the effects of his "Foot Stomp" will not be felt, as you are just above the power of it, and not to high to make the Swarms angry.

Tip: Just before the Rock Wall AV, there is a big monster called "Quarry". It is possible to taunt him away from the wall and into a hole so that he does not attack when you decide to defeat the Rock Wall. (Tip submitted by Demonico)

Tip: This helped me out a lot, the cairns that are dropped up the regen on the rock wall to no end, so I used this bind:

/bind r "targetname Cairn"

I then targeted the rock wall for attacking, and while doing so, tapped the R key, and when a cairn was targetted took it them out, until there were no more cairns. I then switched targets back to the Rock Wall and repeated the process as needed. (Tip submitted by Demonico)
