It began as all do, waiting. I was wanting to do a smaller TF b/c i was sick of running accross 2 bosses on every encounter. So a friend of mine and I were looking for 2 people to join us when we got an invite from someone else looking to do a small TF. He had 1 other person on the team so far. For some reason it was decided (not by me) that we needed one more person to make it the "perfect" TF so we recuited one scrapper to join us. And off we went.
As soon as we entered the 1st battle of the mission, the leader says, "brb phone"... of course we had already aggroed the group so the battle was on. Then we waited half an hour (yes 1/2 hour) for this guy to chat on the phone, then another 10 min of him telling his freind about the phone conversation (i guess they knew eachother irl). But after this VERY long pause we continued.
The leader had leveled on the 1st on and had finally reached that beautiful level of 14 and had gotten fly. So when my computer finally loads the mission (i'm usually the last to get into a zone b/c my comp is slow), I notice that the leader is nowhere to be seen, yet he is on the mission map. He was flying around, playing w/ his new power. When i finally see him i notice he is being followed by a pack of dead. So the battle began very quickly, my friend dies, everyone else surrivies, some how. I rez, we begin on... with the leader flying ahead. Every single group was aggro when we reached them (or should i say they reached us) My friend died 4 times in that mission, but was determined to finish the TF. So the other thing i realized was that there was another person in the group that had heal (aura, other, and rez) and was not using it at all. Yep that defendor decided he would rather fight than keep anyone alive other than himself and his friend (the leader that was aggroing eveyone). I did ask him numerous times to heal rather than fight, but he would not listen. Now the scrapper was very quiet throughout, i think he just wanted to get it done, he died a couple of times, but never complained once.
As the TF progressed i noticed more about how my group was fighint, and realized the leader and his friend, were only fighting for the 1st minute of each battle, then standing around and watching us others do the rest, then when the battle was almost over the leader would go flying off (to find more). Now one would think that this would make the missions go quicker, but oddly enough, waiting on rez to recharge after every battle tends to slow things down a bit.
As well as the leader and his friend calling another break in which they were going to go AFK and go to the store, b/c i mentioned i needed to reboot my computor. So we wait again for another 20 minutes or so. And we seemed to take a break for some reason or another every hour or so.
At this point in time, i was ready for it to be over, but i had told my friend that as long as he was on it, i would stay (and i hadn't died at all at this point). I was also ready for at least one member (perferable the leader or his friend) to decide they didn't want to do the TF any more and drop out. But no...Everyone of us stayed to the bitter end, 8 1/2 hours later.
Right before the last battle (the one where you get your lvl 18 SO) the leader asked everyone if they had an enhancement slot open, then shouted, "go, go, go" ignoring my friend who said no he did not. So we finish the last battle and my friend (who died more than anyone else) ended up with 200 xp and 200 inf and nothing else. Everyone was outside checking out their new toy, telling all what they got, and my friend mentioned how he did not get one, and why. The leaders response, "That sucks for you, lol" then ended the TF and logged off. I was done with CoH at this point. I logged my character and went to bed, thinking i was never going to do a TF again.

OMG, That so sucks big time!! After reading that, I want to track that jackass down in RL and beat the crap of him! I feel your pain, the last TF I was in, I was abandoned by the person who SKed me in the middle of the mission and left me alone in the center of a level 26 fight with me being level 16. Don't give up on the TFs, not everyone is a trailer trash mentality when it comes to team play.
What servers do you go on and levels? I would be a stable TFer for you if you ever want to do another. I mainly play seriously after midnight during the week, I just hunt and heal while I'm at work from 4 to 12a, but, on weekends I can always schedule a TF if giving notice to clear time.

OMG - I feel your pain!
That just makes me not ever want to do a TF with anyone but people I know. I rarely have such a tough time with teams and such, but then again, I rarely have time to team...
I almost feel that this leader and his friend should be shamed in game, but from his comments at the end of the TF, I doubt it would make much difference. Some people are just too far gone to pull back into the realm of polite society.
I'm so sorry this happened to you and especially your friend! Missing out on the TF bonus just blows...

That's seriously insane. No Single Origin is worth 8 1/2 hours! But honestly, thats just wrong...
Caer and I did a Task Force for the writeup on the site, and we had a guy actually go to Icon in between missions to create a new costume. I shit you not.
Not only that, but he only attended 4 out of the 10 indoor missions for the Task Force, and out of those 4, he only fought in 2. Luckily the rest of the group was extremely competent and we had no problem doing the rest without him.
On mission #6 Caer and I were fighting in the front lines when a streak of lightning zipped past our heads. We were on teamspeak and both said 'What the hell was that?' We then realized the guy was an Electrical Blaster. It's pretty bad when you're more than halfway through the TF when your group doesn't know what AT you are. =/
There's a lot more heroes then common sense in Paragon City it seems!

Yeah, that dude could never seem to find us on either the zone map or the mission map either. He kept going on about how he was lost in some area with red borders. I don't think he ever seemed to put it together that the big star on the map was where we where lol.
