so is anyone else going to be getting rid of phase shift if the change on test goes live? i mean what good will it do if you can only use it for 30 seconds? grrrrrrrrr i'm so not happy about this.... and yes this is the 1st time i've complained about anything coming about in i5, but this is the point of ridiclious... there is no reason to do this except for the pvp reasons and well i don't plan on doing that....... arrrrrrrgggggg

Wow, that's the first I've heard about that. I can't imagine why they would change that power. I'll probably still keep it, though, for those emergency moments.

this is the first time i heard that they might be changing phase shift. if they do i will be very mad because ive been using phase shift to actually pull the mobs away from some groups ive been in that have basically all died from a bad herd or add ons. if they do change it to last a certain amount of time i might just quit playin my troller who has that power and start playin on another char that i have.

I understand the need to change it for PvP reasons, but there should be a restriction for it only in the Arena and in the PvP CoH-CoV areas. There's no point in getting rid of it when you're fighting the baddie villain groups. Its only going to hurt players more and give them more reason to complain and leave the game.
Peronsally, I have no players with that power, but I've played with many heroes who do and its saved us a lot of times. Come on devs, leave it as it is. You've changed enough already.

It's pretty wierd that this thread is here. I ran an AV mission, Seige+Nightstar, today and just so happened that the tank I had asked to join had a sidekick he wanted to bring along. Nothing wrong with that right? Wrong! His sidekick entered the mission, activated phase shift, set herself to follow the tank and preceded to do absolutely nothing to help the team. Now this is in no way defending the change, just offering a different point of view on the matter. Putting a time limit on it does seem a little drastic considering that there are more people that use the power appropriately than not. Maybe upping the endurance cost on it significantly would be a better fix than a time limit. I have never taken the power myself but have seen it used for exploits and for good reason, i.e. blaster activates PS right after Nova to keep from eating concrete. Maybe the Dev's will listen and change the power accordingly, seeing as how (in their eyes) the power warrants a change.

Yeah, the change makes some sense if you consider how irritating it is to have an enemy running around essentially unhurtable for long periods of time. By making it a 30 second thing before it has to recharge, it turns it into a power intended to allow you to run away when you've bitten off more than you can chew, or to recover when you're taking a pounding, rather than a way to herd without getting hurt and other things.

the thing is w/ the activation time it doesn't really server to well as a bail out button...
also i tend to use it when i'm in a new scary zone (the hive) and i want to have a look around... the 30 second thing just isn't going to cut it
i guess it jsut irks me that they are making it useless b/c of pvp reasons

I agree with Jeni. I think its a smart idea for PvP, but stupid for normal play. They should really limit it only in the Arena/PvP zones like they do with the other travel powers.

I dont have this power but was headed that way - if it stays 30 seconds I will not. My grant invisibility lasts only 2min and that seems very short in a battle.
How about making it only active for solo like ivisibility and give it up (at least partially) if you attack.
maybe 30 seconds for each attack in team...???
anyone following or not with a team for more than 120sec should be logged - after all "team" isnt supposed to be a club membership that grants benefits with no work
ban it in the arena all together - there are alot of inapproriate powers used in there. Hiding is not fighting and PvP is about fighting - no passive powers should exist there.
tried to stick to strong opinions on this one - maybe a dev is watching - doubtful though

Ok I'm with TheJeni on this one...... if it goes live with a timer then out goes that entire powerset for me. I only took it as a way to safely travel through some zones without having to worry about some sniper taking a Potshot from 1/2 a mile away. I use it as my alternative to personal FF which I respeced out.
Guess the dev's have'nt yet realized the dramatic decrease in subscribers they've seen lately is partly due to changes they've made to gameplay that we find irritating.

if you don't want to deal w/ phase shifters in the arena you are given that choice, but i don't think it should be taken out completely... i mean some of those pesky scrappers need a challenge every now and then, and it works wonders agains a troller's pets and holds *grin*....
also i got on test the other day (i try to stay off as much as possible so i can expierence it live new and stuff), i tried it out, and let me tell you 30 seconds is not long enough for much of anything... i do admit they way lowered the end cost of it, but the recharge time is so high that it really will become a useless power if it stays how it is....
