Okay I havent ranted for quite some time so i'm gettting grumpy, here goes.
The signatures are getting out of hand. I know mine's not exactly short but I'm fixing that, but when there is a 3 line post and you have to page down twice just to get to the next one, there is a problem, I know y'all want to show off your beautiful pictures (not being sarchastic they are very nice). But its getting out of hand and to be honest I'm more likely to look at one than 3. If there are 3 none get the attention they deserve. My suggestion is 1 at a time and rotate em to keep it fresh. It really is annoying and makes it harder to get the good info we all come here for.

I think their not long enough. I've hit the max amount allowed for words, so I had to delete my picture of Red Scout and some his discription to add more pictures. I need more space to add more pictures!
If you start cracking down on Sigs, pretty soon there will be cracked downs on Avatars... then the world. That's not a world I want to live in, keep the sigs long!

lol Red, you're such a character. Anyway...I'm sure I've seen a thread just like this before. By the end of the ranting, everyone pretty much agreed that folks with long signatures should only add the sigs once per thread. That way, the other members aren't scrolling for hours trying to find some actual content. IMHO, the signatures are getting a little long, but I'm glad that people are enjoying the site features. Let your personality shine, but try to keep the threads stream lined...Some of us don't have time to scroll when we're sneaking a peak at work. :P

In my not so humble opinion it makes the site more uncomfortable to use, i have given up on threads because there was more %#@( than information/discussion. as far as the sigs...the world,i have been on the dark side so taking over the world is all in a days work

ok red scout, i have to say your sig is far far too long, well to be specific its
faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar to looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong. its as long as everyone elses posts in this thread before mine. they should be kept short and sweet i mean in my opinion thats the whole point of a sig. if i see a little thing i will likely stop to read it, if its uber super long. i will either read the top bit or just skip it totally.

Ditto. I think that its great that u r proud enuff of ur toons to display them everywhere. But its not considerate to the other gameampers. keep ur signature down to about ur primary toons, one u have over a specific lvl or are playing very often (the oneslisted in my signature make up about 10% of all the ones ive made), and the siggys are really cool, but more than one appears to be overkill.
The bunnylab pets are adorable, but i felt that they crowd a little much... so i was forced to give hami the hamster to a farm somewhere... they renamed him "Jojo"! *sobs*
but im not trying to be a *explitave deleted*, im just sayin plz be considerate. especially to those of u who post non-stop on the cute games we have currently flying around. ur signature only needs to be used once, so yeah. u know who u r, and Sunshine knows where u live!
have a nice day

Sunshine hit the nail on the head on this one. Its not the fact that people's signatures are too long, its the fact that they're long and they use them 8 times in a single post. The checkbox labeled "Use Signature?" is there for a reason. If you use it more than twice on the same page of a thread, that's too much. How many times do I need to see that you taste like Chicken, you are the Purple TellyTubby, you have a virtual pet, you have 39 character on Justice, 22 on Pinnacle, 18 on Virtue, 2 on Infinity, 7 on Guardian, etc etc etc etc etc...?

just an fyi we already have a size allowance for avitars.. Please respect the decissions that have been made and fix your siggys..It does make it harder for people with slower connections to load and be interested in the site.

Ok, I can see DocV's point. I probably have close to the longest sig on this website, so I will try to cut it down, and use it less. Thanks for getting this issue out to those who have them. I'll cut it down now.

Neither would you want to give up the cute little bunnies. What would Persephone longingly stare at all day if you gave them up?

I understand that everyone is working (or I hope you are) on reducing the siggy size. It needs to be no longer than Warshadows x2 or as close as you can get .......If you have questions please pm me and I will help u in anyway that I can.

So I could prbly take out the Level 0s and put them in my Game Handles, right?
Sry, that was kind of a self answering question. I'll take them out now.

Ok, finished. Please see siggy above.
I have again edited it since I first posted this. That's about as short as I think I'm going to get it (if anything were to be next, it would be the Chris Martin quote).

I have to agree with the majority. Sigs don't need to be too large.

Question on the sigs again.....
I just tried to update my account information and I was looking for an option to not use my sig by default. Do we have that option available?
I'm trying to use it a lot less, but I keep forgetting to "unclick" the box and once you've attached your sig, you can't edit and unclick.
I'd rather have the option to turn it off unless I choose to put it on a post if it's available. That would keep me from attaching it over and over again on long post strings. If anyone can help me find that switch, let me know.

When the dev's first made the box to use the siggy or not, origionally they had it set up so that you had to click it if you wanted the siggy on. But a lot of our members didn't like that b/c they never remembered to click it on.
So we have the box to click if you don't want to use it. Sadly there is no option to not use the siggy unless you click the box when you are writing your post.

OK.... that's cool. At least I know I'm not missing it somewhere now. With a little practice, I'll remember to unclick the sig more often. Thanx for the info Jeni.

Thank you Singularity. So far so good. :-)
Another good habit is to preview your posts for not only if the sig will show, but also for mispellings, errors, etc.
I lost count of the number of posts that has the "This post has been edited" note at the bottom.
Kinda takes away some of the impact. ;-)

Yes, very true. There was once an issue between myself and one of the staffers, which I will not speak of here, but I publically apologized for it, and I saw an error in it shortly after posting it. I then realized that a "This Post has been Edited" sign would appear underneath it, and therefore would make it seem less valid or acceptable. I ended up keeping the error unchanged.
