Attention to all RPers who look at this post. I am currently in the making of starting a roleplaying base sg and a sv, from the history all the way to having clan battles, and simply for us RPers to have fun. If anyone is interested please reply and hopefully we can get something going....and if this goes well, the leaders and captains, etc well be discussed in a clan meeting and voted on, thank you for your attention.

Also just for extra information, since I know how starting an sg and looking for one to join. We'll also discuss how hard we'll try to make this an active sg, and of course all those who seek help in lvling and of such will be offered.--The roleplaying side is going to be more in-depth, like betrayal, sacrifice, honor, and even marriage between heroes(male and female of course). All this stuff was done during my time in a great rping sg I use to be apart of and hopefully we can get something similiar started again...but my main goal is for others to have fun. thank you

What server is this on? all my friends IRL r peeved at me playing a certain toon on my own time past their toon's lvl. im interested in joining, but not exactly sure how much time i could spare...
is there any set group origin, collective backstory, or just any sort of theme other than RPing?

First off I guess the server doesn't really matter as long as we get something started and the backstories and stuff we can decide as a group. But right now my pc is down and I currently have someone working on it which should be done within the week. Right now I am using the computer at work to reply these posts, as for time we are also going to have to discuss because I live in Japan so the time is really different here...but we can work something out.

I am game. COH is in my opinion the ideal RP game, since we can be anything we want. We are not forced in orcs or elves. We can come from all over the world, and look like anything we want. But the challenge will be to come up with a cool theme.
Just as a idea, we (me and some fellow Ampers) have set up a SG called the spies a few months back. Due to RL and the likes it is on hold at the moment. The concept of the SG is that is a group of undercover heroes and converted villains that infiltrate into the villain world. They are secretly commissioned by Manticore to find out about villain plans before they happen.
I am just throwing it out as an idea. I am also more than happy to make a new toon. One can never have enough alts, but we need a story before we can start creating a toon.

Hi again!
Sorry if it sounded like I was trying to dictate a server, that's not my point at all. If we play on Victory I can use an old toon (I have plenty of non-uber toons there) or build a new one if that is needed or I would build a new one on another server. Really all I was getting at was that this RP group would be getting a slice of my game time not the whole pie because there are other players I also love to run around with already.
Not sure how good a RP'er I'll make. It's been a long time for me since playing with paper and pencil (I know what it means to have played D&D under "chainmail" rules... now that is old.) I tend to be much more of a "numbers cruncher" and less of a "write a story" player, but I'd still like to give this a try. I'm teachable 8)
As far as a background for the group, I'm good to leave that up to the more creative people. Let me know what to do and how to do it. Spy operatives, army soldiers, Super Hero group, I'm good for anything. I would really prefer COH over COV though. And I'm thinking it would be more fun if we didn't have to dress all exactly alike.
I'm in the west coast of US for what time it is here and a mom so my time is not without other RL "pulls." But I will work on being available for any reasonable times the group wants, the best I can.

It's cool Dyvel, I was just stating that the servers doesn't really matter which one. It's just that virtue is usually the main RP server so we would probably get more interaction with that server. However, it has been a while since I last played CoH so maybe things have changed...as long as I know ppl are interested in this then I'm game. We can go about what kind of backstory to make this like that undercover sg sounds good, or which ever you guys want to decide on. We'll also have to find out who is willing to lead the sg because thats one thing I wouldn't be up for is leading. But, we can always discuss this once we have an in-game meeting. I guess we can decide what kind of group we'll make first....and if someone is even up for making up a website for it then that would be great too.
Note: Other Rpers who read this post can welcome to join in this little project...we would be more then happy to have you aboard.
Plus I like the who heroes and converted villians. So far we have one good idea and the floor is still open to any other ideas. We probably won't make the final say until every is together in-game...

Virtue seems like an ideal server choice, it is the unofficial RPing server and should yield results from non-ampers.
Does someone on virtue have a lvl 50 that could give us money tho? for enh when the time comes...
anyways, back to backstory.
shall we come up with it on gameamp, or wait til we all meet in-game? i think it would be good to do this here before we actually create the SG.

I only have a lvl36 on virtue(its been a while since I last played, even before CoV). Here we bring out ideas and stuff and in-game is where we are gonna make all the final decisions. So let the ideas flow hehe.....

Well I slept on it and thought about what kind of backstories we could have and didn't really think of anything good, but I was also thinking that if we should have like a group costume or just leave to what ever. I like it either way. If we play on virtue, then I going to make a new toon so I can start with all the other low lvls and do mission. My higher lvl toon I'm going to lvl up to earn infl. for enh. and stuff. Also we're gonna have to really work on the characters for CoV. I know its gonna be a while before we can make our own base and stuff but I'm willing to start from scratch. It gives me more pride to know I earned something anyway instead of just jumping into something already and hardly getting credit for it. But I'm up for whatever you peps decide. It's just I don't have my pc yet but once I get it I'm game.

groovy. what sorta toon is everyone planning on making?
since for the first little while this looks like it is going to be a gameamp only- type thing (at least till we find others) we should make toons designed to accent each other... and i would be willing to make any kind of toon there is (except PB, got one of tem i like thanks!).

I'm good for any type of toon. I'm a pretty darn good healer and know how to build a pretty darn good healer. Also not too shabby with a blaster. Of corse like all blasters I kinda need a healer 8). Not so hot at tanking but at least I'm good enough to not get a team killed. Currently I'm trying out scrappers and having alot of fun with that. Not super great at remembering to get everybody buffed before fights though so things like a bubble controller may not be a real good choice for me. I can do whatever the group needs. If I were picking right now it would be scrapper or empathy controller.

i wouldnt mind makin me a scrapper for this project. so weve got like a scrapper and a controller... who wants to do what else then? (also im not in love with doing a scrapper, so if we need like a ank, ill switch ;-))

Well I'm good at scrappers, most of my characters are scrappers so I can do that as well. Blasters are another thing I can do well so those 2 are my hot points. We can always find others to help. I guess just to start the original group we'll use gameamp for recruits. At least until we get in-game with this then we can start forming bigger and better.

I just have an idea but it depends on what you all think of it. What if we had a supergroup that is actually part of a secret organization something sort of the spies sg we talked about earlier. that we all have our own costumes but 1 slot is used to make suites. sort of like an executive type thing going on, and from there we can work with the spies sg. That's just an idea....

Well if its not too much to ask. Could I get everyone who wants to make this sg/sv happen give me your characters name, description,what sex they are, and what is your backstory to your character. The reason being is that I am making a book of our sg/sv and I want to get started on a few of the base lines for the foundation of the group. I would also like to know if you all want to go into deep roleplaying like I mentioned at the beginning or keep it minor. I honestly wouldn't mind going into deep roleplaying, it, to me, seems more fun that way.
So far the sg is going to be a secret organization(subject to change). So all I need is that info of your characters.

My stoner tank will be a 4 foot tall little girl who i havent actually named at all, but i would like to name her something like "Prima Donna". it may have to be "prima donna." or "prima-donna", i havent actually created her yet. she'll be a stone/ss tank, her origin will be magic, and her of course were ruching into the RPing from the git-go! read the name of the thread romeo ;-) ya know i luv ya.
her backstory should be something like
"she attracted the attention of a demon who fused her to the earth itself. be wary of demon's promises."
what ya think? we will of course have to add something in along the lines of how all these toons are connected to each other, like were they all hurt by the same demon and intend to stop him from hurting anyone else, or were they all the product of a mad scientist's fevered wet dream (gross wording... sorry)? im not marryed to any idea of this toon except that i want her to be a stone/ss tank. and if someone else wanted to tank, i could be a blaster, and if someone else wanted to be a blaster, i would defend. like i said, im a very versatile playa.

That's great sunshine. And about the roleplaying I just had to ask again because sometimes ppl change their minds last minute. Also for everyone's info about my character just to show where I stand...If I make a scrapper(katana/Sr) , his name will be Shadow Star and his real name would be Kijero Akata. If I make a Blaster(ener/ener), his name will be Legion(real name Eddie Romeo).

Shadow Star, a ninja who was trained as an Iga Soldier and earned his right to stand as a GrandMaster of the Akata Iga Ninja. His family is then killed by a murderous group who leads him to the City of Paragon.(futuristic ninja look, colors black and dark gray,)...working on more....
Legion is a mutant raised by the organization and considers the founder of the newly formed supergroup to be his father. Well educated and being brought up by a wealthy man, Legion fights for the City of Paragon and his fellow comrades...also working more on the backstory...(platnium hero costume, colors black and dark purple)
These are my 2 characters, but I'm not sure who to use so if I can ask for y'alls help so I can decide on which one to use would be great.

Hey all, i am game for an RP SG, just one question, what server are we on. I can play whatever, but the one thing i'm not to hot on is Empathy (just a little different for me). But i can do any AT you want.
As my Sig says i have a 50 blaster so if you want me to be a blaster i can be one.
Also when will SG time be. I'm not working yet but i will be getting a job here soon (i hope) so i am game for most nights.
P.S. I am the best with these Four AT's: Blaster, Scrappers, Tankers, and Peacebringers. with that said, i am heading off to bed. I will read up on this tomorrow.

I'll give some thought to a back story. Since this is a new server for me I'm very tempted to recreate Naestra of the Irda all over again. It's a good power set for me and I'm pretty good at it.
I will shed some light on something and offer a thought... I play quite a handful of alts but in my head they are all the same actual hero... Just different aspects of the same gal. It seams to me that since everybody is so agreeable with what roll they play and we are pretty small group yet, why not each build 2 toons. You can think of them as alternative versions of the same person or as different members of the team. In that way we may have options for tanks, etc... If someone is missing in a critical roll someone else could fill in. You get the idea. I'm thinking no reason to not.
In fact the more this comes off my fingers the more I think it's a good enough idea that I want to do it. If nothing else it would give me a supersuit and street clothes version of the "toon" before level 20 8)
If we do this my choice is alternate versions of the same toon but there is no reason we need to all do that the same.
If you like the idea I intend healer and scrapper. Are we set on a server? Anyone object to building toons and soloing to level 5? It would just give us a bit stronger toons to start with.

Man am i a Goof-ball. I should have looked a bit harder. So the server is gonna be Virtue(gah i hope i spelled that right).
As for background info (lets call it BGI for fun), it takes very little time for me to come up with an BGI. So once i figure out what AT i am gonna play, i will decide what powersets i will be then i can make the BGI.

this sounds pretty fun and i'd like to participate but i dont know how much time i would be able to contribute. i start summer grad school tomorrow and i have a 29 BS scrapper i love and am trying to gain ground on to 50.
personally i like tanks and scrappers. i hate being squishy. but if we need to fill holes i'd like to help out. let me know what we need and i'll try and fill in as best i can.

First off, I would like to say thank you to you all for taking part in this idea I had. I mean, I didn't think at first this post would go very well. Now with the alts and the 2 different versions, I like that very much. haha it makes it easier for me to make both my toons. I would also like to make this sg as active as possible since that is the thing most sg's lack, but if you are unable to game at times, then that will not be held against you. I know how it fells to work and have other things to do(everyone has lives to live). But again, if you please I'll need info on all the characters that will take part in this sg so I can start my book as soon as possible. As for my toons, Shadow Star will be my scrapper who gets his hands dirty while Legion is more of the organized hero. Thanks All!!

OK Romeo, this is your mess. Go in and build a toon and start the SG. That means we need a name. I'm good with any name really. I think the Fantastic Four is taken though...
I'm West Coast and can be on after about 6pm tonight so you can recruit my toon(s) and will solo each to 5 earning prest all the way.
I don't think we need a common reason to be in the group. You don't very much that in comics do you?

i'd say rarely do heroes from the same team/SG have the same background. only fantastic 4 pops to my mind, but that's only how they got their powers. they all still have their own histories.
i think a common origin would be neat and how we all were involved in an accident/incident/something and our powers were bestowed upon us. some bull like that.
and Dyvel is PST, what time zone is everyone else? I'm east coast. and 9 pm for Dyvel would be midnight for me and i'm on an earlier morning work schedule so i crash at like 10.
