Ok, I was reading thru the CoH boards and this was part of a post. i thought it would be a great idea to promote gameamp on triumph.

now for the fine tuning:
1. we won't be easter eggs. we will be Ampy A, Ampy B ... Ampy Z and each have a letter on our chests. and 26 letters should cover everyone cause all might not be able to attend. if we need to add 10 more go 0-9.
2. our costume would be this design:
thank you Del for modeling. but the majority would be white, and the bolts will be all different colors with the letter on the chest.
3. i went back and read the initial thread about starting an AMP SG and noticed everyone was quick to offer phanthropy toons to donate influence for the SG. well here's you chance.
4. we would need some higher toons with recall friend to help place 'ampys' around atlas to hide. i'd be willing to do that since tank has recall friend. we would only probably need 2 or 3 people to help do that.
5. probably need a staffer or two on hand for PR and Q/A anyone has.
6. since the SG is just about full and i lost all my presige recently, i'd be willing to start a temporary "event" gameamp SG not using one of the other 2 reserved SG names we have waiting in the wings. we can invite all the lil Ampys to the new SG and still affiliated with the site.
7. we could do this any night of the week. or have it be a repeating occurance: bi-monthly, weekly, whatever.
let me know what you think.

Lets see what the community thinks about it. If it generates enough interest we will give it ago.

The idea sounds interesting and fun. But what would we be doing exactly? You mentioned 'hiding'. Will there be some sort of contest for finding the hidden Ampies?

yeah i thought that part was covered in the quote i added, but i guess not.
we'd place the fat lil ampys around AP and 2 or 3 of us would stand in atlas and announce the rules.
each ampy would have anywhere from 5K to 500K influence to hand out. we could have different rounds or different rules for each ampy.
examples: AMPYs A-H are for toons under level 6. and put A-H some where on the ground or a place accessibly only by normal running or jumping. <6 so swift and hurdle dont come into play.
AMPYs G-J will each give you a clue to a riddle. solve the riddle and find the right ampy and win X influence.
AMPYs K-S are for players 14+ and are up high and need a travel power to get to.
AMPYs T-Z are all colors of the rainbow. put them in the correct order and you win X influence.
just random rules. its basically we can do whatever we want and if you have any contest rules, riddles, or ideas just throw them here.

This would be everyone in the SG's account. We would all just make the Alts on Triumph and pass out the Inf and be put in our spots.

What if some of the questions you had to actually access the site to get the answers like who is the top credibility holder, who created the site, how many people are in the Gameamp Alliance, stuff like that. This would help the actual "publicity" aspect of it. And maybe hold it in Galaxy City since less players are familiar with it. Have Broadcasts in Atlas, Galaxy, Skyway, Steel, Kings Row, The Hollows, Perez, and the Help channel about it.

wow i really like thisw idea and think that it is not only fun for the hunters and the ones being hunted but an awesome way to get the site advertised lol well hope that you get serveral to participate bc I think that you would do a wonderful job organizing the event...and yes i would be there and I want letter R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good idea! have people go on the site while in game like most of us do.
as far as broadcasting in other zones, what exactly do you mean? just that there is a contest going on or hold the contest in every zone?

i'm going to have all the riddles layed out ahead of time. and i was thinking more of clues to find either the next ampy like a scavenger hunt type deal and if you get all the clues right and get to the last ampy you get inf.
or you could just hand out riddles. we shall see...

Since we want to promote the GameAmp site, maybe one of the riddles would be for someone to be the first to find a particular Ampy and answer a question about some content that is on the website. That would force folks to actually log on and check us out.

This is not a good idea. Is sounds like fun and would be a great way to promote gameamp.com, but it is not legal.
Every time you log into the game, you sign the EULA, which is considered to be a binding contract. One of the provisions of that contract states than you will abide by the rules of conduct. One of those rules is:

Creating an official supergroup of the website does not break this rule, because the supergroup was formed here, in our forums, then made a reality in the game.
For individual members who are not part of the gameamp staff to promote gameamp.com on their own does not violate this rule, as long as it doesn't take the form of blatant, direct advertising. (Spamming "visit gameamp.com" om broadcast, for example.)
What we are talking about here is a mobilization of our membership to get out in the game and tell everyone who we are and give prizes to non-members for participating in our contest. This is definately against the rules of conduct.
If we really want to do something like this, we should definately get permission from the NCSoft staff first. They might say yes, just because of who we are, but then again they might not.

If we did a contest like having a "find the ampy's" it wouldn't be against the EULA. If they were all in a SG that had Gameamp in the name, I think it would be enough promotion for the site. People asking what Gameamp is in game and us answering isn't going against the EULA. But I'm not really liking the idea of riddles about Gameamp. It sounds nice, but that might be taking it to far. And I think we would loose intrest from non gameamp members quickly.
But the ampy hunt sounds cool. And handing out inf for people that find them is pretty cool also.

ok then so a hunt the ampys is ok. check
i'm gonna say that if i say 'go find Ampy R' and they go find where rainah is hiding then she tells them 'Ampy X is about to get dirty with the vahz' (which is a clue to see xeno near the sewers) those type of contests would be acceptable.
and if i send them to see Ampy G (genius) and he just gives them a plain old riddle for inf that would be ok too.
i agree that sending them to the site while in game would lose a lot of people, heck i even try and not to do anything else on my PC while i'm in game.
so would these be acceptable?
and an unnacceptable temp SG name would be "Gameamp PR" or similiar, but an OK one would be "Pets of Gameamp"
i know thats a really bad name, but i'm thinking pets like troller pets and all the ampys would be my pets that have gotten loose from gameamp and i need help finding them.

My non-professional interpretattion is that an activity to promote the Gameamp Alliance is a-ok. The Gameamp Alliance is an in-game entity that does not exist outside of City of Heroes. Promotion of The Gameamp Alliance is ok. If it wasn't all the broadcasts recruiting new members would be against the EULA. Promotion of cityofheroes.gameamp.com is against the EULA. My recommendation would be to inform all Alliance participants that solicitaion for visitation to the website is grounds for sanctions. If you get a direct question, you could answer truthfully, as that does not constitute solicitation.

As for names... um... I like the concept, but the name is um... yeah needs a little work.

ok first i need to know what toons are 14+ with recall friend.
Del and myself i know of. i just cant think right now cause we just took down babbage! and i'm really tired :(
if you want to be an Ampy, list your letter request on here. that way it will be what letter you want AND an indicator that you want to participate as well.
i'm saying right now, you are NOT gauranteed these letters!

Ampy Q : Evil Lemons
Ampy G : sportgenius
I won't dress up as Frosty the Snowman for a Christmas party...
