Looks like the same old guides section to me. Am I missing something?

From the main guides page, there is a pull-down (top right corner). And from there you can select "GameAmp site features". After pressing on the filter button you get them. Well, "them" is only DF's ingenious signature guide at the moment. But I am sure more will follow.

Rainah, et al.
EDITED: I wrote this before the post above me were visible and its about the OLD GUIDES section but much is still applicable so please keep that in mind when reading. It may help avoid the same pitfalls in the new section!!!
Well I stepped back what I know about the game and jumped on the website like the noobie I was a year ago. From the standpoint of the Guides alone I see some issues.
Many are outdated - with significant inaccuracies from the changes of I4, I5, I6, I7. Since you cant edit them one I submitted less than a year ago is now out dated and I would like to copy and resubmit it deleting the old one if there was a way to do this.
I think the default listing order should be alphabetical by subject. Newest first often puts information first that is least useful to a new player. As long as the guides are kept current I think a default list order should be Most Views First. Your most likely to find the stuff you really need at the top this way.
If you don't already know the game pretty well its confusing that the guides are dumped in one basket. If you clicked on CoH guides and then got a submenu of CATEGORIES I think it would be easier to navigate them. Again - staff would need to be sure they are in the appropriate category - I see many that are not in the category where they would make sense to me.
There is alot of duplication although the names may be unique. This is especially true of character builds.
There are many guides that are more TIPS - perhaps Staff could make a determination when approving items if they are more "Guide" or "Tip" level items rather than the submitter that may choose based on the amount of credibility they will receive. Maybe even revisit them and move them to an appropriate place.
And lastly, on the list - there are some GameAmp site related guides that I think need their own category as the are not CoH gameplay related and would be easier to find under "Using GameAmp.com Guides" examples - Signature Creation, Screenshot Submission, News Submission ETC.
Dang, i'm bitchy this morning....better have some Pepsi and Girl Scout Thin Mints to settle my butt down a bit LOL.

mmmmmmmmmm..... thin mints mmmmmmmmmmm... *homer simpson noise with accompaning drool*
i like Del's idea about separating the guides into sections. i've gone back a few times to try and find one and its a pain if you arent sure what you are looking for.
maybe split them up similiar to how the tips are split up. those are easier to differentiate.
that is all for now. Big

Divided by Archetpyes, Missions, and Site Information. I believe it would help clarify what you are looking for.

I know our guides (and tips) section have a lot of out of date guides. We have been going thru the tip section first (there are a lot of them) and moving the ones that are out of date to a "obsolete" catagory. And will be doing so for the guides once the tip section is done.
You mentioned some guides are more like tips. Well, sadly those are going to have to stay guides. Those were submitted before we raised the bar for submissions. There is no way to make a guide a tip (and vice versa).
As for resubmitting, if you have a guide you would like updated, we can change it for you (staff have the power to edit all submissions no matter how old they are). You can submit the new guide w/ the same topic (and a link to your old one would make things quicker and easier for us), but make sure you put something like "do not approve, this is an update to [blank] guide" in the title so we know it is one that is ment to be changed.
And if you don't share some of those thin mints w/ everyone, i don't think it is fair for you to be eating them in front of me! Gimme!
*edit
Oh yeah I forgot one thing. As for changing the lay out of the guide section, that would be a complete reworking of the page. And I know the dev's aren't going to be doing that for me any time soon, sadly.
