introducing LoneStars, the FIRST SOLOIST'S SUPERGROUP (only on VIRTUE)
LoneStars was established to provide the facilites, community, and support usually reserved for team-oriented SG's to players who, for whatever reason (IRL or ingame), are inclined to solo most of their crime-fighting career...
if interested, please reply or send ingame email to Speaker Boy on Virtue Server for a trial membership.

Not a bad idea, but isn't it so that if people play solo that usually means either they want to play solo, or they play when there's not many others online.
Also, to join this SG you'll need to be on these server, Virtue, and you'll be able to play with any others in the SG online at the time.
If there are none online... there's not benefit from this, right?
So... how exactly does this difference with any other SG work?
Edit: And seeing as the "double post" shows up in two seperate forums I'm guessing you intended to post it twice?
Seems rather pointless to me.

Great idea!
A solo-ist SG has many benefits for a player over running without an SG. The most important one is the base. If the SG is big enough the base will have teleporters, worktables, and a clinic. Although the individual players won't meet eachother a lot, they can help eachother out quite well via the base.
Another benefit is financial support. A high level hero has more influence than he/she can use. So socializing for two minutes will do the SG good.
I will look you up. My virtue hero is in a dead SG. Its concept was nice but the leaders decided to run off, so I need a new home.

to answer you question Julia, the difference between LoneStars and other SG's is the approach at the game itself.
CoH is one of the rare MMORPG's out there that give you the choice to fight groups enemies by yourself and actually stand a chance. this aspect of CoH is often overlooked because MMO tradition implies that you need a team of X players, X healers, X tankers, X nukers, and so forth. LoneStars' mission is to encourage and support CoH players who decide to go against that tradition.
basically, LoneStars aims less to be of an "elite army of powerful soldiers" and more of a "loose organzation of secret agents"...

Phedre_D is a great player and will make a great member and addition to the sg, I know becuz I was one the leaders to the sg she was referring too, I agree the sg had good ideas but it just took a turn for the worst, again I'm sorry for that Phedre_D and I know you will be a great member to this new GREAT! addition group to Virtue. If any of the members of lonestar ever needs help, don't be shy to send a tell or message(Shin-Obi Ninja), my main friends and I will be willing to help in any possible way. GOOD LUCK LONESTARS!! hope to see you around in virute=). And not to sound cheesy in anyway, have fun Phedre_D make me proud=D haha. Thanks for the nice words, RomeoX! It is much appreciated.
The LoneStars is turning onto a really great SG. There always seems to be a couple of stars around to brighten the day. And since we are basically all soloists we have no rules for the SG, and therefor no quarrels, politicing, and other such problems (yes, this is a sneaky promoting/recruiting effort).
I will definately have a look out for Shin-Obi Ninja. Although it will be hard to spot you, I guess :)

Well, I'm officially intrigued. I'm not much of the soloing type, but lately I've been doing a bit of it.
My problem is that I'd much rather play the supporting AT like defender or controller. Someone that heals, buffs, debuffs, or otherwise supports teammates. It might be fun to work on soloing build for those AT's and still be the support role for anything teaming that might happen.
I'll have to think about it.

That is a great idea! I really like to run with my SG and friends online, but there are times when I just can't. I have to run with HIDE turned on so that no one thinks I'm being anti-social but the fact of the matter is, I'll jump in a mish, finish about half of it, and then have to go fold clothes, answer a support call from work, etc...... Then I go back and finish it. I have specific Toons that I have rolled that need no help, and some that need teams.
There are a lot of valid reasons that people will not and can not team with you. In most cases, it's for your benifit. Would you like to hang out in a mish for 30 minutes while I fold this load of laundry? I didn't think so.
I applaud your recognition of the NEED to be a solo player for some out there! I don't really have a presence there, but good luck on the endeavor.

Great concept. I only wish it was on Freedom server as that is where I run my solo scrapper. If I decide to start a solo toon on Virtue, I will definitely look you up.

As almost all of my heroes are on Virtue, and I plan on starting a claws/regen(or SR, can't decide), I would be honored to join your group. Lately I've been feeling the inclination to solo more, just because of the easier/quicker mishes, and the rush of doing it by yourself (I am Invincible! yeah, that feeling). So this actually works out well. Also, I am in a couple great SG's. Warron's group is full on coalitions, and I have no leader status in the other, so coaligning at this point seems a null issue. However, please look me up online, my global handle is @Warron Peace. Send a tell, and we can arrange an invite/global friending. That way I can help the group out as much as possible.

Interesting idea. I mostly COV but would like to start a new PB. Since I am very active in villain SG I dont have much time to "commit" to a SG. This might be the ticket for me. If I start a new toon on virtue I'll send you a message.

Yep, still running. It is basically a skeleton SG from the original group. The base is now lani's interior decorating project, my dojo and Falcon15's hideout, but it has some decent functionality and still quite some prestige to spare, I think. You (and everybody else) are more than welcome to join. Are you on the gameamp.com channel? That is the easiest way to find us. But I'll send you a tell when I get online too.

That's an awesome and intriguing idea. I myself nearly always solo unless I had a few IRLF on to play w/. Even then, they would play the group chars more and leave me behind in levels.
One thing to watch out for is "free to join" bonus stuff. i've seen / known many friends who join things for perks and use it up and leave. You could offer basic perks @ joining. Then after a probationary duration offer to upgrade. And/or increase perks w/ donations of game rewards etc. For the year and a half I played DAoC, I was in 6 guilds that all structured off people leaving the prior guild or complete break off to form there own.
But whenever I can suit up .. definitely would consider joining with:

Actually that is really a cool idea, too bad it was never created on Triumph because I have a ton of characters I solo alot on.
What never makes sense with me...I team with my MM (who really doesnt need to team) but solo with blasters and scrappers in situations where they should be teaming. Man I am so bass ackwards.
