What's your favorite power set and why? Mine would have to be, I quess Ice Manipulation; just because I like ice-oriented powers and there are some cool powers in that set.

Gravity Control with Kinetics as it's secondary. Several reasons:
1) I've always loved the idea of manipulating gravity. Several of my table-top superheroes have had that power.
2) It was the first powerset I tried out on CoH.
3) The powers are well thought out and make sense.
4) Kinetics and Gravity have the same color on their hot buttons.
5) Pummeling foes with junk using "Propel" is hilarious.
6) The singularity pet rarely dies. I've lost more to zoning than I have in battle.

Earth/Wind completely.
I am in love with the overkill control it brings, slow, -def, immobilize, more slow, holds, health, knockdown, sleep, another slow....I mean, I am just overwhelmed with it all.

I haven't actually played a lot of different characters, but that is because I got hooked on my main, and just couldn't stop. So I'm going to have to go with Assault Rifle. The reason being... well other than the fact that the gun is huge compared to my character and looks really cool, there are some really great powers and animation to go along with it. Flamethower and Full Auto being the 2 coolest. I mean how can you not feel powerful when you let off full auto? And now that the bullets are showing up, the fact that I can tell where Liz has set her full auto off is GREAT!

There's too many sets to name IMHO, love playing lots of em, just cant play them all at once which is where the problem lies.
The one set I tend to go back to is my main toon which is a rad/def. Get my kicks from being the backbone of a team and keeping them alive the whole time while they push ahead on the mish.

Speaking of that last comment about a Defender, I just have to switch the topic for one second then we can get back to favorite superpowers.
What is up with people telling me which powers to give my characters?? My Defender has Presence and can tank as good or better than any Tanker and yet I get kicked from teams just for that reason. My Tanker can fly, any "OH NO! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" ):l
If this has happened to you: It's your character. As ling as you can handle what you're trying to archieve then go ahead and put on Presence with a Defender, Flight on a Tanker, and even Fighting on that Blaster! FIGHT THE POWER!!

my personal favorite is Fire/Fire.. fun to blast at people with it.
second, Illusion/kinetics, get flash, its really effective and alot of fun.

My favorite set? Hmmm...That's a difficult question to answer. I think it really comes down to build instead of set for me. I like making my characters as rounded as possible. Normally, I fall short in the damage department because I play Controllers, but I'm pretty even with everything else. Take, for instance, my main character Mr Brightside. He's an Illusion/Radiation Emission Controller, so he can pretty much do it all - hold, buff, debuff, heal, tank, etc. Another build that's quickly growing on me is Earth/Storm Summoning. In the early stages of the build (probably 1-21), it's almost too difficult to play. The powers are decent, but you can't slot them well enough for proper use. Once you ding 22, the fun starts. It's amazing how dominating a single Controller can be. My favorite sequence for giant mobs is - Earthquake, Quicksand, Choking Gas, Freezing Rain, Stalagmites. I just picked up Lightning Storm, so I don't know exactly where that will fit into the mix - but it's an amazing power by itself.

I am a sucker for kinetics.
But really, the fun of CoX is that there are so many options, so many different combinations. I mean, I had fun with something as straightforward as my Broadsword too. The variety is what keeps me playing, and I feel like I've really only touched the surface with combinations to play with.

I don't think I have a favorite. There's some I don't like, and the rest I pretty much enjoy all the same. And then there's the ones I haven't used yet, but I'm sure they'll fall into one of the two I mentioned already.
