Howdy,
Don't know why it is, but I ALWAYS seem to find Giant Monsters whenever there are no SG members on! Fortunely, there were some colation members on. We got a pick up group going and Wham, Adamastor was on his face in under 2 minutes. Dang, I've never seen him go down that quick. We did have two Shivan on our side, along with my kids, so that was 13 to one. {Will post a couple of screenies for your viewing pleasure.} Still he went down pretty easy, and the 3 healers had little to do other than counter his AOE powers.
Which brings me to wondering, did they go too far in reducing the Boss baddies? Whimcycle, Ill/Emph Controller remember, has soloed 3 Elite Boss of late, ones that use to kill him without breaking into a sweat. Not that I am complaining, though I seem to be, but has anyone else noticed this trend?

I haven't seen Adamaster out in a long time. Mostly people are reporting that the GMs are still harder to kill than the I6 versions. Using Shivans to help is one of the tactics that people are using to help with -regen effects(I think that's what they are getting from them. Haven't gotten one myself yet).
I'm still surprised he went down that quick. Babbage took 30 minutes+ the other day with loads of 50's helping.
Maybe you just had the right combination of heroes to really sap his ability to regen, and deal a lot of damage at the same time.
I've had those nights where the 8 Hero team I'm on seems to be rolling so good we could take Hami by ourselves(j/k). The combinations of powers all just mesh perfectly and everyone is on their game.
Gratz for whuppin his butt so easy! Never hurts to get the badge either.

whim was i there when you took him down?
because when my team did, i think it only took about 10 of us and he went down in about 5-10 minutes with i think no deaths.
he seemed more like a red boss than a GM.

I must say, this was my first experience with him and I expected a much larger fight. He went down pretty quick with minimal damage to anyone. It was rather funny though, before we started I thought I would get a screenshot of him since this was my first time against him.
Here is the scene:
In the cemetary, couple of heroes surrounding the area and others still arriving. I decide I have time to get a screenshot, so I hit invisibility and start to go in.
I know... I know... some of you are thinking ahead... just a minute.
So I swing around and face him and then I decide to move closer, so I can get a great shot. Suddenly I am taking damage. Wait a minute... he is attacking me. What the heck?!
I quickly fly away hitting healing and gulping down inspirations and barely make it away.
Ok... you all can say what you were thinking... Giant monsters can see through invisibility.
Das Carrot: "Guess he can see through Invisibility. Mental Note, don't do that again."
Teammates then let me know that Giant Monsters can see through invisibility. I won't forget that now.
It was great though. Thanks for the heads up Whimcycle.

Ha, I made that mistake before with Lusca. I wasn't in the mood to fight him so I thought I would just hop over him on my way to the Brickstown gate while invis'd. One smack by a tentacle sent me to the hospital. I decided to take the train to Brix. :)

Heh,
You need to get Superior Invisiblity, Swiss! If and when the screenie go up, you will see I could stand right next to him without fear... And get good screenshots.

Group Invisibility keeps you safe as well. I've got some old screenshots on my other account standing face-to-face with Addy.
By the by, I'm not really seeing the difficulty boost in the GMs since the Devs corrected the intial I-6 increase. A day or two before one of you (can't remember off-hand) said that Babbage took 40 minutes with multiple 50s, I took him down with a 4-man team that only had a single 50. Maybe the servers have different difficulty settings or something. Maybe the Babbage in Boom is easier to defeat than the TF Babbage. I don't really know.

Wow... are you sure you have enough salt to rub into my wounds. I can always let you borrow some.
I can't wait to see the screenshots. I posted 2 as well, one from far away (by the way, Giant Monsters can see through invisibility) and one when he was almost defeated. It has you saying that he is Toast!.

That was me. You know, I'm almost starting to wonder if the Babbage that spawns with the Synapse TF is bugged. It was total hell trying to take him down, and we've done a couple of GM's that a 6-8 hero team has had no problems with in the open zones. I wonder because of his unique outside of the mission spawn, he's still on the insane setting that was introduced with I7.
I'll bug this next time I'm online. I think I'll fire up my old rant post to see if anyone had done Synapse lately. We'll let Adamaster own this string!
