Favorite Binds

For kheldans:

/bind v "target_name quantum$$target_name void $$target_name crystal"

Instantly lights up with any Quantums, Voids, Or crystals in visual range. Even if mostly obstructed or in a crowd of enemies, now you can see them instantly.

For sneakers/scouts.

Looking for glowies that don't glow? Try this one:

/macro SeeK "target_name Superdine Case"

If it was Superadine cases you were looking for.

Edit the macro for anything else you're seeking. Kill Akarist mission? Change it to:

target_name akarist

or

target_name hostage

For those hard to find hostages :)

RE: Favorite Binds

I don't really use anything like those, although they would come in extremely handy. All my macros (don't really use keybinds as it's easier to bind a power to a macro that I can have in my skill slots) are basically just to execute a power and say something at the same time. I've got the typical teleport notification, as well as the /macro Snipe "g Sniping $target.$$powexec_name Sniper Rifle".

It gives everyone a good laugh when I snipe a baddie via an assist. Also, I added /macro AS "g Jack SMASH!$$powexec_name Air Superiority" whenever he does air superiority. He's a blaster, so if you see me shout that, you can be sure I've got someone in melee range. :)

I guess I am not sure what this will do.

Are you saying that if you encounter a group of baddies and press the key it will automatically target a quantum or void? Does it just look for any part of the name or does it have to be named that exactly?

So you could be looking for whatever and as long as there is a common thread in the name, you can have this target it?

RE: Favorite Binds

I haven't done anything really complicated or interesting with binds, but I'm entirely too amused by my F11 macro, which is bound to Taunt + a local statement of 'Come get some.'

RE: Favorite Binds

You know, I've always used the variable $target for binds, but never thought that there was a target_name command for specific characters. I see how the naming convention would work too. That's some handy information there.

My favorite is
"group $target, Prepare to ride the lightning! $$ powexec_name Recall Friend"
(On Thundarpants of course.......)

I'll have to add that targeting info into a few binds and test it out.

Note! I have tested this for actual enemies such as the quantums and voids and it works. Please let me know if it works as I suggested for the boxes themselves (should because they're attackable) and hostages (should because their targettable too, but not as sure).

Since I found this bind, I haven't been in any missions like that.

UPDATE: As of yesterday, I have successfully tested this bind on captives and just about anything else you can point at and have come up in your target window.

Yes, it will target only the ones with that name in it. For example. You're in an outdoor instanced train missions (the kind we all hate... Well, I do). You're looking for Dreck. Change the name to dreck, fly around and keep hitting the macro. It will target nothing, not one single enemy, unless their name has "Dreck" in it.

Lights them up like radar. Also useful when in Croatoa looking for Sally. Set a temporary macro just for her so you can scan the lake every time you exit a mission.

RE: Favorite Binds

Since we don't have a lot of other stuff yet, here's another of my favorites.

make three (or more) text files:

c:bindsyen1.txt
{contents are the following line only}
f7 "local You're toast!$$em point$$bind_load_file c:bindsyen2.txt

c:bindsyen2.txt
f7 "local Come git some suckas!$$em taunt$$bind_load_file c:bindsyen3.txt

c:bindsyen3.txt
f7 "local Ready to burn?$$em angry$$bind_load_file c:bindsyen1.txt

After you've done this, type bind_load_file c:bindsyen1.txt

What this does is set up a rotating taunt message and emote on f7.

The first time you press f7, it says "you're toast" next time, "git some", and the next "ready to burn?"

You can do this with a lot of stuff and you can make the binds do other things like have different colors and such (the same as any other bind, the only trick here is the bind_load_file command which switches the bind as the last function.
