so its been a while and we keep getting new heads in the alliance everyday.
i've mentioned to a few people in game i'd like to get an alt or two in a SG to backup the alliance so would everyone be down for the Alt SG? or has ampy's avengers been establish and i didnt see the memo?
i know a lot of people have lowbies on triumph and it would be easier to keep track of each other if we got them all together.

How's about "Lets wait and see what happens" before we all start running off doing this that and the other. I'm not able to get on the US servers due to no time card, but I am led to believe that Vince has something going on.
I'm not wanting to stifle any creativity here but a second SG when we are losing people from the first one already? Alts?
Lets give it a bit of time and proper thought as running one group is tough enough, running two is hectic, running 3 SGs on different servers where you have to keep up with the daily demands of around 200 players is hella hard.
All I'm saying is lets not start thinking about a marathon before we can run 100m.
Calm it down a tad, breathe deeply and don't go rushing off too fast as it'll only end in tears and that's sommat I dont want o see from anyone in the SG or from Gameamp.
Egos get clashing over who's done what been where and earnt what and soon tensions get to the point that I'll have to go change the SG colours to pink and yellow just to calm everyone down!!!
Please let's leave any alt SG on the side burner for now as if it's GA affiliated, it needs staffers controlling it - sorry but can't let the kiddies play yet hehehe :o)
Anyways, it won't be quite faaaaaaaaaaaaaab enough without me anyways :p

Mal the really scary thing is I'm sure you do have alts with those names right now. I shudder to think what they look like. Now if they'd just make assless chaps part of the costume options...............

but here were my initial thoughts about an alt sg:
1. i was going to make an SG myself for my alts on triumph and since i know a lot of people have lowbies there too i was going to open it up to all ampers for any toons so they can 'park' a bunch in there and easily see if anyone else is on.
thats one of the best things about the allaince IMO is being able to look at a list and see who's online right now.
2. i dont want to put another toon in the alliance because i'd rather have a new face than another one of my own.
3. unless you are completely 100% hardcore about your alliance toon, you like to play something different occasionally. i loove big the tank, but i need a new taste everyone once in a while, especially if no other alliance toons are on atm.
4. my idea is similar to what swiss did with his toons. anyone can join it, but it was initially for my alts.
5. i'd wanted to name it like the gameamp alliance sidekicks or something else. since i wanted to do this, i figured i'd open it to all ampers and make a post.
F. i'd really like to make a coalition with the alliance if i make a personal one so i can use the teleporters :) i'm rather lazy sometimes.
7. it would be more of a loose organization of toons, more of a club or afterschool activity to keep those little impressionable toons off the streets and out of the rogue isles!
the alt SG in my mind would be used as a break from any mains and a support for the alliance whenever needed.
addition after going back thru the thread:
now if this sounds rude, its completely not meant to be and i apologize. but why does it have to be run by staffers? im not saying you guys havent done a great job so far, but there are plently of people who have proved great players, people and leaders in the community. i know its only been just over two months, but we did the wait and see what happens. and we've seen a great success and an unbelievable supergroup form with some majorly kickass players who are excellent to each other! we almost function as one superheroic unit fighting evil!
and whats wrong with alts? almost everyone has them all over the place. i teamed up with 4 separate ampers on low alts over the weekend on separate occasions.
and i'm honestly not trying to be a weiner.

My two cents. Big, I think it is a great idea to make your own SG and get everybody in that you like. It can be in a coalition, but not even necessary. I have toons in 5 different SG's on Triumph and I still manage to team up with Ampers thanks to the global channel. The only thing I think you should not do is calling your SG GameAmp something something. Big's Party sounds great, and everybody knows it is a GameAmp guild anyway, especially if it has coalition. I just think an SG that has GameAmp in the name should be run my GameAmp staff.

Agreed, I don't think the "Powers that Be" would be too keen on people using the name "Gameamp" without them knowing about it. We'll see what Vinnie V has up his sleeve before doing anything. If the group starts getting as big as it looks, it might be time for an alternate "Initiate" group or some such. The staffers will be sure to take care of it though, don't worry about it. :)
Also, if you need an invite to the supergroup, send a message out to the gameamp.com global channel in the game. There is usually someone on that can invite you to the group. (This goes for the villains group as well)
Let me also say, I'm going to be playing Onion. hardcore from now on. I'm going to attemt to avoid playing other alts until I get him to 50. (he's 34 now) My usual play times are weekdays from like 1:00pm (eastern) until about 4:00pm (eastern) unless I'm off work (usually fridays) in which I play a LOT longer. I rarely have time to play on weekends.
So, if you see Onion online at those times, feel free to ask me for a team. If my internet is fairly stable, I'll be glad to SK or Exemp to help out. (Katana/SR Scrapper)

I agree entirely. There's a lot of guys on the SG that aren't active very much. I'm there alot, and there's only about 10, MAYBE 15 different people TOTAL I've ever seen really playing.
I had my PB on the SG for a little while, but found him boring and so I took him off the SG. I have a new alt, Midnight Moonstorm (Earth/Rad Controller) that I love playing, and I play him enough to justify having him on the SG.
I think that if you aren't going to play a guy for a long time, take him off the SG.

Sorry, to follow up on what I just said. The way I look at is is, it's not that we don't want you on the SG, but if you are just filling a spot and never playing with others - you should get your guy off the SG and make room for those who really do want to be on it.

My thoughts...
I'm an alt on Triumph, my mains are on Freedom and with my primary alt on Triumph, I'm in the GAA, however, because she's an alt, I'm hoping to avoid ever hitting the 45 day inactive kick issue. I love to play with the people on Triumph because it's a whole lot different than Freedom and running with Ampers is hella fun, however again, these are my alts so a place I can call home there without worrying about losing it when I'm on that long grind to 50 with my main is an appealing idea to me.
I agree with having it disassociated with the GAA for the simple fact that if someone does something stupid it doesn't reflect on what the GA staff has going, but having access via coallition would be great.

Hey I am all for it I mean this way people still get a place to keep their chars for the time being. But i do have to ask about something i have been playing a lot on my main Villain and had my hero on triumph (an alt nevertheless). I need to send him in the sg can nsomeone do that for me?

i want to make it a gameamp something to show my obviously undying love and affection for the site :) but i figured i'd get everyone's opinions first for obvious reasons.
ok so here are some more of my thoughts, but before we begin, take a moment to look around your play/work station and familiarize yourself with all emergency exits in the forward section illuminated by the illuminating exit signs:
if anyone has a triumph alt, you're more than welcome to shoot me a PM @bigspeer and join the alternate universe SG.
i dont want to call it Big's Party or anything about me. so i'd like some name help.
i want this to be a no holds barred, knock 'em down drag 'em out, total butt kickin' SG. i will need a tad bit o' help to get some alts in this thing. the only rule is show up ready to eat some cake and take some names, but there probably wont be cake for very long.
everyone will have invite ability and all the same prividleges (sp?). we'll have a small base when the time comes, maybe i'll be in charge of building it. but since i've enver done it, anyone who shows interest in helping build it they can i dont care.
i know it will be a slow moving SG, but thats what alts do.
so if you have any good ideas for a SG name, please lemme know. :)

Nasali hit the nail on the head there. That's exactly what the powers-that-be want. They want to make sure the Staff are the ones handling stuff just in case something goes down, either our fault or someone not on Gameamp's.
Naming big's SG:
I really like "the Alternate Universe" that sounds so cool, but I'm sure its been used already (if not, go for it).

But seriously, I think the Alternative Universe is a great name. As already mentioned, I'm sure it's taken. If not, that's what you should go with, Big. Also, I'm voting for "Whatchu Call My Mama" as a close second.

wow you guys threw out some great names.
i like Whatchu call my mama! thats a great name and a good enough reason to fight crime in my book.
how could we change alternate universe into more people targed, like avengers is people avenging, x-men are men.
alternate universe needs some small tweak to sound like it describes a group rather than a place or existence.
the first thing that came to my mind is alternate universal soldiers, but that sucks.
I won't dress up as Frosty the Snowman for a Christmas party...

As much as i enjoy playing different power sets all the time, i have to agree with Firespray on this topic. I remember the days early on in the SG when we'd have a full 8 running Frostfire 3 times a day, and we'd have teams going 3-5 times a week. Now, we can do it maybe once a week, or less.
i'm not blaming anybody for trying out different powers. Heck, if i do that, i have to blame myself first, what with my fire/invul brute on his journey to 50, Zapper, my regen scrapper on occasion, my MM, and DC for badges. It just seems like sometimes we let our alts get in the way of our "mains".
Also, it could be that it gets harder later in game, but, to use an example, look at the hollowpoints. 4-5 weeks, and they're up to 36 at last look. It can be done.
I guess all i'm saying is let's focus on our mains first and foremost in the alliance; get most of us up to 50, get the base up there and possibly rdy for raids, so we can do what we set out to do: kick the crud out of the gameamp asylum.

Alternate's Universe has been established on triumph for any toons that need a comfy home, a warm bed, and a bowl of supersoup.
this week's special is cream of crab with some saltines.
