I have just found out that hugos204 is sending PMs to members of the site requesting their bank account info. Part of the PM reads as follows:
| QUOTE | ATTN:
APPEAL /FOR URGENT ASSISTANCE
DEAR,
PERMIT ME TO INFORM YOU ABOUT MY DESIRE TO GO INTO BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU. I GOT YOUR CONTACT FROM A SITE www.gameamp.com CALLED HERE IN MY COUNTRY COTE D'IVOIRE.AND AFTER MY PRAYERS AND FASTING, I HAD THE REVELATION THAT YOU WILL SUCCESSFULLY ASSIST ME. I AM MARIS MICHAEL, AN IVORIAN IVORY COAST NATIONALITY.THE ONLY DAUTHER OF MR AND MRS.MICHAEL |
I know this was an email scam for a very long time, and it seems people are now trying to do it on other websites. If you have received one of these PMs please DO NOT SEND THEM ANY INFO!
This person has been banned. If you ever receive a PM like this in the future, please let me know asap so we can get rid of that person.

I've lost count of how many times I've seen that exact same scam. No matter how much they change it, it still looks the same. For example, the phrase "after much prayer and fasting" is almost always there, no matter what country it supposedly comes from.
The key to this scam is that they will try to convince you that if you help them gain access to their money, they will share it with you. The idea is that you will provide a bank account where the money can be recieved, then you give most of it back to them and keep some for yourself. It always sounds like a reasonable request and profitable to you, but what they are asking you to do would be illegal, even if it was not a scam.
In reality, they ask for far more information than they need to send money to your account. They trick you into giving them enough information to raid your account, gain access to your other accounts and sometimes even to take out loans in your name. It's very hard to get your money back, because these people really are overseas.
DO NOT EVER COOPERATE WITH THIS SORT OF REQUEST.
If you ever need to have someone send money straight to your bank account, ask your banker what options they have avaiable for safe direct deposits. EVERY bank provides ways to accept direct deposits without giving anyone full access to your accounts.

My God, can't they get any more creative than that? I only had to read the first couple lines. I guess it's a good thing that they're so predictable, but they do get a pull every so often unfortunately.

My issue...
I could see getting this via E-Mail, but isn't it a pretty big hassle to PM a bunch of people on Gameamp.com with this?

One would think, but it seems they hit a lot of people. I've had to post this warning thread on 3 sites so far. And will be getting the dev's to get a network wide news post up, so everyone is aware of it network wide.

Every so often? Complains from people who fell for it cross my desk a dozen times every week.

I received 2 of these over the weekend as well. It's amazing that anyone actually falls for this stuff.
For anyone out there needing a reality check...people whom you have never heard of before and who also have never heard of you (famous as some of us may think we are!) do not contact you by random e-mail with the intention of giving you millions of dollars.
