Replacement Storm/Electric Manip Power: St. Elmo's Fire

So, I was sitting around today (much like last time I got a bright idea for replacement power, see here), and I was thinking about something I'd read about in my science textbook last year called St. Elmo's Fire. Incidentally, I was also reading reviews for Thunder Clap, the majority of which said don't take. So, thus is the deion:

AoE 25 Feet (animation like lightning ball, maybe a different noise), decreases foes' resistance to Energy Damage by 75% for 10 seconds, 90 second recharge.

This would probably work well for Elec Manip Blasters because they already have a mess of energy damage at their disposal. For Storm Defenders, I think just about everyone takes Lightning Storm, so this will be useful once LS has been taken since it does Energy Damage, and a large amount at that.

All opinions are welcome.

Sounds like it would work. Certainly would be better than thunder clap.

RE: Replacement Storm/Electric Manip Power: St. Elmo's Fire

It is an intresting idea, but there are some blasters it wouldn't work so good with (AR blasters don't do energy damange). I actually liked thundar clap. It came in handy when villains actually got with in melee range of me. It was nice to have a bit of a back up to get them off of me if I was surrounded.

But for defenders the change would probably be for the good. I can see that defenders wouldn't use thundar clap to much. And the extra damage would be nice for them.
