This is probably not a very popular controller combo but I have a ball playing this toon anyway. However...
I'm about to do my "/respec" and I currently have steamy mist, group invis, and superior invis but I'm pretty sure I don't need all three. What is the best combonation of two of these three considering I probably solo %50 of the time (Phantom Army, Snow Storm, and Freezing Rain make this pretty easy) but I really enjoy the team thing.
Any advice from any Illusion/Storm trollers out there?

Well, I do not have the combo you are talking about, but I do have an Illusion/Rad and an Ice/Storm, so I'll base my advice on knowledge of those. If you solo most of the time, I would pick Superior Invis over Group Invis. Superior is a toggle while Group is a click, and you definitely don't wabt the invis expiring at the wrong time! Also, I would keep the Steamy Mist: it is a great group stealth power that also grants some decent damage resistence (against fire/cold & energies IIRC).

It's true it's not a popular combo but I think that's for other reasons than it being totally uber. We have two level 50's of these in my SG and they were insanely awesome and fun to run with.
The main problem with this combo is that there is too much good stuff in both sets. It makes it very hard to make these types of descisions. I generally pick relatively crappy compliments to either so I can dig deep into their powers. Having both together would be maddening every even level to 40!
I agree with Electro 100% on his assesment, but from a player experienced with running with them, I'll tell you why.
Superior Invisibility is flat out the best stealth power in the game. A must have for an Illusion Troller. Keep that for sure.
I love Group Invis when I'm getting it on a squishy, but invariably you always end up getting the Tank with it or it dissipates at the wrong time. Just for the hastle sake, I would ditch this. Most Illusion Trollers do unless they are building a Team Support specific toon. Because you mentioned you like to solo with this toon, it would be the best choice for dropping.
The beauty of Steamy Mist is that the Tanker can just step out of it while the rest of your team hangs close. And the defensive bonusses are better than Group Invis IMO. Granted Group Invis does stack with your Superior, but so does Steamy Mist. The one thing you have to watch out for with this power is endurance. Put at least one End Redux in it if you notice problems managing Endurance while you use it. It kinda depends on how many other toggles you have running.

i have to agree with the above. definitely keep superior invis, and the bonuses from steamy mist are better than those of group invis, even if the group invis has a bigger stealth factor. also, make sure to get O2 boost from storm too, because i has a great -disorient effect. have someone use an awaken, and the O2 boost will let them rest immediately.

Steamy Mist is one of my favorite powers. I have a lvl 50 Storm fender and Steamy Mist has saved his rear more than once. I've got it 3-slotted with Defense Buff and 3-slotted with Damage Resist. Once you have Stamina, the end cost on Steamy Mist isn't noticable, unless you're running a lot of other toggles. I can run Steamy Mist, Assault, Maneuvers, Tactics, Charged Armor, Sprint, and Hover with no problems. In long battles (when I have to throw up a second Lightning Storm) things get a little dicey, but I try to keep Steamy Mist up.
In fact, and Big can back me up on this, once my toggles drop I die. Not eventually. Almost instantly.
Long story short: Keep Steamy Mist. Slot it for End Reduction for now, though you can probably swap those out once you have Stamina.
I've been thinking about making an Ill/Storm. But now I'm all caught up with this Bringers of Wrath VG on Justice.........

If I wasn't still on vacation at my parents house, I could post my L50 Ill/Storm's build. I might have some time tomorrow to throw together a build for you....or better yet a guide.

FYI, I believe you cannot use Steamy Mist and Superior Invisibility at the same time.
SI has about double the end cost, but is a complete invis, as opposed to stealth, like SM. Also, SI has a much higher Stealth radius than SM.
