Boost Range?

My Energy/Energy blaster, Sunny Lee, hit level 32 over the weekend (and in only five weeks -- I'm so proud of her that I have two Centriole Infusions waiting for her in my SG base stores in anticipation of level 47). At 35 she can take Boost Range, and I'm trying to decide if I want to bother. On the one hand, I know full well that extended range can be a real boon to blasters, but on the other, I tend to solo a lot and play her as a blapper -- her hand-to-hand attacks do just as much damage as her upper tier blasts, and I can usually one or two shot even con enemies.

So I guess I'm just curious, does anybody see any real benefit in taking Boost Range?

RE: Boost Range?

I have a En/En Blaster myself and i picked Boost Range at Lvl 35.
The power is in every way better than I expected.
It recharges very quick, the range increase is pretty noticable and I hardly notice the endu-cost.
But I'm not blapping much.
Only when the foes gets past all knockbacks...=P
So I benefit from this power much more than you would.

RE: Boost Range?

I am a huge fan of Boost Range. As an energy/energy blaster you will especially notice the difference with Power Burst and Energy Torrent. It's also nice in when you can pick off opponents with your other blasts when them try to flee a battle.

I'd highly recommend arming it with 3 SO redux enhancements and setting it on auto. That combination gives you perma boost range without worry of having to activate it. An advantage only rivaled by perma hasten from back in the day.

RE: Boost Range?

Thanks for the information, folks. I really need to get my blaster a respec (she's doing quite well, but I went against the advice of people here to check out the Fighting pool and discovered how much it sucks to have my toggles drop because I have no Mez resistance). When she's respecced, I think, she'll be better able to handle adding Boost Range to her build.

I recently experimented with fighting pool on my blaster as well. Although I did see an difference in my survivability with Tough, disappointment set in with Weave. It was at that point that endurance drain became a problem. On top of that, I saw little difference in my survivability and since it offered limited or no protection against 'stuns' I decided to work with the Leaping pool for Acrobatics as an alternative.

RE: Boost Range?

Btw...does Boost Range increase the radius for AoEs or PBAoEs?
Cones get wider when their length is increased.
But what about Nukes and Rains of...?
Are they affected ad all?

Pretty much just powers that will accept range increasing enhancements.
