Has anyone made an energy/ice blaster guide? So far im doing pretty well but i'd like to see a guide and look at what it has to say. can anyone link me to a guide or maybe even type a build for me to look at? it would be much appreciated

Do you think that Energy and Ice add up nicly?
Energy is mostly about knockback and keeping foes at bay, but Ice rather controls foes nearby.
One of the strongest weapons in the ice arsenal is Ice Patch and you would blast the trapped foes off the Ice Patch.
Energy mostly slows the attackrate of foes by knocking them down and the foes dont attack during the stand up animation.-.-
So...I dont see any useful tactic in this combo.

well i have gotten this blaster to lvl 35 and it has been fun and easy so...... it may not be popular but it has worked for me

and actually...... i didnt even get ice patch. i like to use the slows they may not work for some people but they work for me so ty for your input

If you have gotten him to 35, then chances are you are more capable of writing up a guide than most of us are. I'd love to see one, if you'd be willing to do the work for it. Personally, I don't see much in common with the two, but thats just me.
Do you have any particular powers you are curious about? I could help with that, if you want. If you need build advice, I could prolly work one up for you, as well.

i haven't experienced energy/ice but i have done energy and i have done ice, not enough to create a guide..

If you got an En/Ice to Lvl 35, why do you ask for a guide?
Write one.

LOL very funny guys but believe me guys im not the person u would want to write a guide even though my toon is lvl 35. I really didnt know that this was an unusual combo either. So srry i wont be making a guide.

Oh but i do suggest trying it it is very fun. but one little advice about the build dont get any of the ice secondaries other than Build up and shiver and mayve freezing touch. Shiver is good to use on a mob just before u attack em (duh) and i love it! GL

I like the combo choice! I toyed around with making one of these as a test Blaster but went with an Electric/Ice because I was interested in utilizing the Ice Patch. Considering that you mentioned that you skipped the Ice Patch and just worked on the Slows, it does make pretty good sense as a combo.
Knock the enemies back, and them make them slow as hell to get back to you. Should be pretty damn effective in PvE solo or in groups. And probably aggrivate anyone you PvP against. =P
There are a lot of unique Blaster combos out there and people that can play outside of the cookie cutter combos and builds. This one definately doesn't show up a lot, but thinking about how you are utilizing it, I'm suprised it isn't more popular.
Too bad you aren't interested in making a guide. Sounds like you know what you are doing, and have a cool build plan and utilization. It would definately be a one of a kind guide for us. Think about it again after you hit 50.

This tactic sounds to me like it would work better the other way;
Ice/En instead of En/Ice
Ice Bolt and Ice Blast to slow the incoming foe and Power Thrust to send ihm flying.
Later on you get Aim and Build up to go for some dmg.
And Power Boost would make the slows really annoying to every foe.
Add Hasten and Conserve Power and the combo gets really tough.
Could have some potential, huh?

Actually, that was the most common PvP Blaster build, until Fire/En became so popular, just because your can do sick single target damage.
Nine of the five voices in my head say I'm not insane. Majority rules!
Esh, 50 Merc/Dark MM
Onyx Slate, 50 Super Strength/Stone Brute
Endothermite, 50 Ice/Energy Blaster
Azure Barrage, 50 Empath/Electricity Defender
Tarvitz, 50 Spine/Regen Scrapper
Fatal Fealty, 50 Super Strength/Willpower Brute
Lord Tarvitz, 39 Broadsword/Reflexes Scrapper

Both combinations work just fine. But I don't think that the OP has an Ice/Enrg Blaster. So it doesn't really apply to the topic. They were looking for a guide to their current combo.

Why don't you post your current Energy/Ice build?
See, my thought is, if all you're using is Shiver and Build Up from the Secondary, Energy would have made a better secondary, but I digress...
Post the current build and we'll see what we think about it. :)

OK ill show u the build but its not in order so....and i might forget some stuff heh
Energy Blast: Power Bolt, Power Blaster, Power Burst, Energy Torrent, Explosive Blast, Sniper Blast, Nova (i plan on getting Aim next)
Ice Manipulation: chiliblain, Chilling Embrace, Shiver, Build Up, Freezing touch.
Concealment: stealth
Flight: hover, Fly
Speed: Hasten
Fitness: Swift, Health, Stamina
Ok im pretty sure those are all the attacks i have so far. Enjoy

Looks like a sturdy set of power selections. Kinda hard to make a total eval on the build without the slotting. I see you picked up Explosive Blast. Now a lot of other Energy Blasters will complain that it's a weak AoE, and they are right. BUT! It's an AoE and your job is DPS. It will significantly contribute to your overall DPS.
There are so many Blasters/Players that will not pick a power because it does not rate on par with other powers of a similar nature. Explosive Blast doesn't do as much damage as Ball Lightning or Fireball, but considering that in many cases you are fighting more than one enemy at a time, you need to utilize the AoE at your disposal.
You already have an "Outside the box" combination of power sets. And you have a good grasp of the execution strategy. Kudos for not being another cookie cutter hero. But because your thinking outside the box a little, and using a slightly odd combo, a lot of people won't really know how to reply on the "How's it look" kinda question. They'll probably be counting on you telling them how this work well, and why.
I see your game plan and see the logic. I'm a little weak on the ice secondaries though. Anyone want to chime in on his selections from that set? They seem to flow with his execution game plan.
