hey i'm new ;D
just wanted to say i got my trial to work, and after two days i bought the game ^^
Till now it absolutely rocks, and at the moment i'm a lvl 15 blaster. I'm trying to get to lvl 18 now, because i want the teleport power ( didn't know how to get it at first, so i thought i chose 'fly' but *luckily* i chose the wrong power ^^)
well that's all, i hope i will be welcomed to the CoH.GA family well as i was welcomed at the GW.GA family ^^

You might want to plan out a build for your guy, or one of the Ampers could do it (Warron...) Just list your Power pools, and we can help ya out.

I like the idea to go opposite of fire/eng blaster. The build looks good so far, grab th build up etc etc. fire sword is always fun (no matter what people say ;) ). I too like sniper blast....ok love sniper blast.... >.> Build looks good so far. Go with what you feel and let us know and we will criticize your decision to the up most degree! jk lol :D

Welcome to the COH side of things, Hijaru Ta! This game is indeed amazingly fun! One note of disappointment for you though. The gameamp.com ingame channel is only on the US servers. There are a couple of us playing on the EU servers but most of us are US side. (Even several of the Europeans like me play US servers.)
One of the great funs of your first toon is just getting a feel of all the options. There are quite a bit. You will quick enough get a feel what is useful and what not. There are some very powerful power planning tools out there but I would stay away from them for now. First be the newb for a bit. And bombard us here with questions. We love questions.

I'm starting to get the hang of skills, and what to upgrade or not. I do have a few questions;
-Is there a shortcut to open up in example; Broadcast, team etc.? don't like clicking them T_T
-Can i get another Zero G-Pack after this one ran out of time? *have to use it till lvl 18*
-What's 2+141, i keep getting the answer 144 on my calculator, but that doesn't seem right o.O The teacher keeps hitting me T_T

You can sort of. Switching is indeed kind of troublesome, and will always result in tons of mistells. I believe there is key-combo to switch but you can set up binds.
/bind g beginchat /send "broadcast"
/bind h beginchat /send "team"
Now when you press 'g' you switch to your chat window automatically and your text will be send to broadcast. And with 'h' similar. But somehow I am not 100% sure "braodcast" and "team" are correct. If not somebody will correct me. You should also have a look at this spiffy bind and macro thread.

Nope, it is a one-time thing. But you can get a raptor pack from the lvl 16-20 safeguard mission. Also quite handy.

I know the answer to this one, but I will only tell you if you come over to the villain side. Which you should do anyway. Much more fun there :)

well, i'm lvl 18 now, got teleport (it rocks, and it's fun if i teleport high in the air and teleport a friend next to me =3)
still have a few questions (z0mg)
-why is this game so awesome?
-is teleporting the fastest way to travel?
-will i see one of you ever in-game? (i'm on the Union server)

Without really knowing your playstyle, I can't give you a build for your blaster. It seems you prefer single target attacks, which isn't a bad thing. Fire Manipulation has some awesome AoE potential, however, so you may want to consider some of those attacks, especially if you team often.
Teleport is considered the fastest travel power in the game. 3 slot it for range and nothing can keep up with you. Slotting end redux helps for those longer trips.
For energy blast, be careful when teaming, as you may inadvertently knock an opponent away from the tank or scrapper, which can annoy them. Try to position yourself to knock enemies into nearby walls, or if you can, try to hover above the field, making your knockbacks into knockdowns. That'll make your melee teammates happy. =D
Give me some hints as to how you want to play your blaster, and I can give you some more solid build advice. Are you mainly ranged, or do you like to get into melee for attacks? Things like that will help me to help you.

wow thanks for those tips, they are awesome. Never thought about Knockback>KD. I play a ranged energy blaster, i only come close if i see the tanker has trouble and to blast them away with one of my energy skills (keep forgetting their names >.<)
That's all i actually do xD. I open with Sniper Blast to do some nice damage on a boss, then usually cycle through all my skills, and when he is Knockbacked again, i use Sniper Blast again to finish him.

So, Energy/Fire? Huh...don't think I've ever seen someone with that build b4. Sounds kinda fun actually...

There you is. You have plenty of ways to keep your range. Hover will keep you out of melee and if they still get too close Power Push and Burn will make them go away. Also, along with a nice array of single target damage and knockback, I threw in Explosive Blast and Fire Sword Circle for some crowd control. Char from the Fire Epic set (which become available at lvl 41) gives you a decent hold, Fire Shield will give you some more protection from damage along with the defense from Hover (which is sadly very small, but not too bad) and if you do happen to die, Rise of the Phonenix will fix that problem quickly.
I made the build with fun and playablility in mind. So while it may not be the best build ever, I personally think this would be tons of fun to play. And with moves like Consume, Fire Shield, Hover and Rise of the Phoenix, health and endurance shouldn't be a problem.

but still, i found paragonwiki (go me!) and searched for Rise of the Phoenix, great skill o.O (maybe b/c i'm a low lvl it seems great but still)

There are generic power pools available to everyone. Ancillary power pools are pools available only to your archetype, and only from level 41 on. They are often powers normally available to other Archetypes, as Char and Bonfire are Fire Control powers, Fire Shield and Rise of the Phoenix being Fire Tanker powers.
They are designed to add more versatility to a character, by giving melee characters ranged attacks, giving squishies some extra protection, and giving support toons some offensive abilities.
