Ok so the last 4 days of my life have been more better (intentional mistype) than normal. And it has got me thinking how the small, little, tiny choices in our lives can effect us in profound ways. Keep in mind before thursday i was close to a nervous breakdown due to lack of money.
Ok i work nights and usually when i work a night before my 2 days off in the casino me and a few of the staff will go to the pub and have a few drinks, maybe a little poker.
Now thursday gone i almost didnt go, but i did, and because of this i have since come into alot (for me anyway) of cash
On the way home from pub (won £7 playing poker btw hehe) i went into the bookies, betting office, place where you can bet on horses for anyone that doesnt know UK slag. Anyway i like the roulette computer touch bet thingy. so i put in £20 and leave with £220. Later that day i play badminton with a friend on the way home i do it again, £20 in £200 out. Next morning almost lose it but £290 in and £550 out.
Lat night i go casino £100 in and 600 out and today just now £100 in and $400 out. so yes im winning a crap load.
But my point is, what if i never went to the pub that morning, what if i didnt play badminton that day,
Think guys its the little choices that define our lives not the big ones.

Cause and Effects rule the universe. I think about stuff like this from time to time. A lot "What if" questions are then speculated. You never know. Whose to say you would of been struck by lightning if you didn't. I could be setting off all kinds of reactions just by replying to this post.
I guess if you could always know the results of a choice before you made it everyone would be a lot better off. Life is an journey and an experience. By making the wrong choices we learn from our mistakes and can educate others.
If you had all the answers... you'd be really good at Jeoparody

It sounds like you're trying to describe the Butterfly Effect. In theory, the tiny breeze caused by the flapping of a butterfly's wings in just the right spot can change the weather on the other side of the world. The "proof" is one of the best known examples of chaos theory at its strangest.

so what you are saying is "The next month of City of Heroes for everyone that responds to your post is on you!"
Is that what you are saying!
Just kidding... Congratz on the winnings and also congratz on the ability to put that all into prespective and not go out and continue betting and losing it all.
I will often think about those thoughts. What is that person's life like that I just past in the Airport? Have I changed someone's life by saying hello to them...?
All of you here on gameamp and in the game... How have I influenced the decisions that will occur in your life?
That kind of thinking is what has spawned the whole parallel universe story lines that occur in the comics. At each choice in your life a new parallel universe (a new thread) is created. Had you decided not to go into the bar, you would have started down a different thread, which would have created an entirely different you.
Starts to get pretty heavy thinking after a while. Again, congratz on choosing that thread to follow.

This is a site for all ages Jinxy. Please watch the language, even slightly veiled language. Please edit that to something more appropriate to all ages, or I'll get a staffer to come in and edit it for you...
All said, sorry to hear about your losses. Sometimes a losing streak can get really annoying, because you keep thinking that you *have* to win it back at some point. How can anyone lose this many times? Hope you make up for it later on...

You can say "twit" in a G rated TV show. That's just Brittish for "airhead."

He said something else that I'm not going to repeat, then edited his post, and I edited mine. Leave it at that, please.

Ok...
Jinx. I'm not a professional or anything, but you have a gambling problem. Stop going there. Those places are not designed for you to win. Sometimes you'll have a streak of good luck, but it will never end up with you winning in the long run.

You made out pretty good in your OP, but it could have easily gone the other way, as it appears you found out in your later post. My suggestion: if you don't have it to lose, don't gamble with it. A couple people I have worked with in the past have had gambling problems. One had it so bad she maxed out her credit, lost her retirement savings, and had to move back in with her mother!
I go to Vegas a couple times a year for business and I rarely gamble anymore. I absolutely hate losing!

I've had someone PM me about locking this thread, because it's not exactly appropriate for the younger folks. However, I'm going to keep it unlocked, only because it's a good example of why you should NOT be gambling.
The odds are ALWAYS against you. In the long run, you WILL lose. There are no "proven systems". It's luck and it's not in your favor.

hmm Dont gamble its not good for those who have addictive tendancies. Drinking to get drunk isnt so good either...dont gamble and make a budget? that might help organize your funds a bit....
but you always win some and then lose some. my mom went to the casino here and she spent $20 and won $140 i was proud of her because she stopped playing when she won the money. Anywho good luck with your money issues
