New power sets on test

So, boards seem a bit quiet today so I thought I'd throw something on here. I was curious if anyone has been playing around on test, and if so what builds they've come up with that include new powersets.

I've tried out spines/fire scraps and fire/thermal troller and those two seem pretty sweet, though I think ice/thermal or stone/thermal might be a better combo as it better fits the support/buff your solo pet ideas.

I'm interested to see how DA works for tanks... its resists are better than a fire tankers I know, but where does it lie in terms of other resist based power sets? Any news on psi blasters? I haven't tried out any combos yet on that end, been on a melee kick lately.

i went on a few days ago, i tried out two different psi blaster combos: classic psi/mental and a psi/fire. i couldn't decide which i liked better, so i might end up making both. the psi/ment is a lot more controllery, or would be if i had bothered to level her up higher than 7 on test (i think its a little bit of a waste), but i was focusing more on damage with the /fire. they were equally fun for different reasons. i have yet to try out the other stuff, but i think they made very good choices overall for the proliferated power sets.

i really liked them all, the scrapper i think has alot of potential so and the psi psi blaster but i dont want to lvl them very high cos i will want to play them properly when they go live. all 3 seem fun though.

I tried out the psi/nrg blaster combo. I only got to lvl 8 but it was pretty fun. I did notice that Will domination, the lvl 8 psy power, was not doing the "high" damage it was supposed to do. It actually did less than the lvl 2 power which was supposed to be "moderate". Other thank that, and if it is fixed, i think that combo will be really kool

i think they are changing the blaster's will domination to be more like ice blast's freeze ray, a control effect without much damage. if they do, i hope they either up the damage a little or make it a real hold. sleeps aren't very useful on blasters...

I'm going to be making a dark/fire tank to fulfill my quest to have a tanker of each primary set. I've got fire and ice to 50, stone to 44, WP to 35 and inv to 15 thus far.

My dark/fire's powers will be derived from the ability to manipulate the fire/ash from the volcano that he was born next to on one of the outskirting, unnamed Hawaiian Islands.

He will be aptly named The Flyin' Hawaiian.

I played a spines/fire. That was a little bit of fun.
And I tried a Ice/Psi, which I liked because /Psi's attacks really add to Ice/'s lack of attacks in the beginning. It's a very controllerish set. Plush the slows compliment each other, which is nice.

Seeing that I don't have a lot of time to play... When I can sit down to play I never want to take time on something that I will just have to do over again on the live server.

I have a hard time get enough play time as it is, I want to make sure it counts... So, I will wait for the issue to go live and then start the new stuff.

That is the dilemma: the desire to have your time count for something vs. the desire to play with the new toys early. I'll probably spend most of my time on the "live" servers, but I think I'd like to test some of my planned power combinations before I12 goes live. So you may see the occasional "Testbot" running around.

I rolled a Plant Control/Thermal Radiation "Testbot" last night and loved it. Actually very solo-able.

Interesting was my attempt to name my Testbot character. I intended to name it "EDC Testbot C-PC-TH1". I even made a backstory about the "Experiential Data Corporation" using the testbots to collect data on the new power sets. But the game would not allow the name. I wonder if I running afoul of the new spamming controls.

Oh, and the June 3 date makes a lot of sense, but just to be different from bigspeer I'll say "May 29." And swiss can quote me on that too.

Depends on how long it takes them to get the bugs worked out. From what I have been reading, they still have somethings to get looked into. If they have to many problems they will either cut that feature from the Issue until it gets fixed, or they will push the release date back.

As far as the trying the Powers out, I will wait until it goes live. I am looking forward to trying them all.

OK, wow are psy blasters popular. I'd say about about 70% of all the heroes I run across on the test server are psy blasters.

Oh, and I have to give a thumbs-up for the revamped Hollows. The place is busier, but in a good way. There's even a fun little surprise if you go running around.

Just a hint, issue updates classicly happen on Tuesdays with few exceptions. They never happen on the weekend. Remember, these devs work regular Monday-Friday 9-5ish jobs. :) That's where I came up with the 10th.

My bet for the release of I12 is may 22-23, cuz that's when my brother is getting married, and I have to stand as one of his groomsmen. Or May 20, because these releases usually come on a Tuesday.

This was also the case when they released the Archery and Sonic sets for Blasters. Atlas and Galaxy were COVERED with Green Arrow knockoffs and Rock n' Roll Star lookalikes.

I do recall seeing Steven Tyler a few times.

This was also about the time we had Beetle Mania going on on the Justice Server and Justice Radio. Which I am proud to say I was a big part of while playing the part of Paul.

Ah memories.. Whoa kinda got off topic there... ahem..

This is a little different. Then there were two new powersets and both were being tried out. Here there are ten new (newly proliferated) powersets, and half the toons I see are psy blasters. Most of the rest are */mental blasters. I'm the only plant controller I've seen, though I have seen a fire/thermal controller. I've seen one fire/fire scrapper. I have yet to see a cold/ice defender or a dark/dark tanker. As you can imagine, it's next to impossible to put together a well-rounded team on test server right now.

It's probably because Psychic/Mental blasters are one of the only sets that is completely new.
