| Can You Make Any CoH Heroes Based on REAL Heroes?!?!?!? |

This is a thread I' m putting together to get ideas on how to make heroes in CoH to be like and look like real heroes (in comic books, movies, etc.). Post what the Archetype would be, what the Primary and Secondary powers would be, and also what power pools this hero should take. A NICE ADDITION WOULD BE A PICTURE OF THIS COH HERO, SO ALL THE AMPERS CAN SEE WHAT THE CREATION WOULD LOOK LIKE! Lets show the world how to make these heroes!

Are you doing this as a curiosity thread or something else? I'm asking because a couple of years ago when CoH first came out, both the devs and producers of the game got in trouble with Marvel Comics because players were making their avatars look like Marvel heroes as well as other copyrighted characters. A lawsuit was issued but settled out of court with a condition that if or when CoHs GMs found a player running around with a copyrighted character, whether they are from Marvel, DC, or another comic company, that toon is immediately renamed and the costume randomized.

Oh, I'm really sorry, I didn't realize this. I was just wondering out of curiosity if there was any characters based on real heroes.... I'm very sorry

Technically, yes you can. Every so often I see someone running around that looks amazingly similar to the Hulk, or Batman, or the Flash. It can be fun to see how close you can get. I wouldn't do it with a toon that you actually intend on playing, however. Sooner or later, a game mod will come and smack you upside the head and turn your beloved toon into GenericHero552873. Plus, it is generally looked down upon by the game community as showing a lack of creativity.

A dramatization. Sort of.
A few more esoteric copyright infringements I've seen are Hiro Nakamura, Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat, and Willy Wonka with an Oompa-Loompa sidekick.
I'm still a pathological altoholic. A short list of some of my characters:
Abana (hero, Champion), lvl 50 mag tanker, stone/stone/fit
Etain Echraide (hero, Virtue), lvl 25 mag controller, plant/therm
One Man Vs. The Mob (hero, Virtue), lvl 12 sci blaster, nrg/nrg/fly/stealth
Ballplayer Reverend (hero, Champion), lvl 18 nat tanker, will/mace/speed
Dr. Arjun Girish (hero, Virtue), lvl 6 nat controller, mind/kin
Aulay Marwaring (hero, Champion), lvl 5 mut blaster, ar/mm
Ashmorah (hero, Champion), lvl 8 warshade

i remember a few of us getting x-men costumes for hami raids a while back. they worked good because most dont have wings or capes, which caused a lot of lag in hami raids. i had wolverine and cyclops, there was also nightcrawler, colossus, and a few more i cant remember off the top of my head.

Path of Wrath was Nightcrawler. Not sure if he still has the costume though.......

I have none of my own. The best and most humerous I saw was not even a hero. Well, perhaps he is to some.
It was Steven Colbert, from the "Colbert Report". Comedy Central viewers will know who he is. His name was simply "The Word", and looked a heck alot like him.

I've seen several Barack Obama's, John McCain's and Sarah Palin's running around. I almost feel sorry for Joe Biden, I haven't seen any of him around at all. :/

ive seen a few over my years of playing.
Spawn,danger girl, x-men, hulk, thor, spiderman, batman,superman,the fantastic four, doctor doom,witchblade, grey hulk as mr. fixit,angel,purgitori,stormtroopers,loki,the enchantress,dragonball z chars of a wild variety(they were all energy blasters),naruto,jackie chan,stone cold steve austin,randy savage,all the thundercats, and the winter soldier to name a few.
I made an energy/kin once and named him the jolt cola kid, However I made his costume like one of the original New Warriors: Speedball. Only a few die hard fans recognized the resemblance.
When the trenchcoats came out I saw alot of matrix movie chars, when the wings came out I saw alot of x-men angels and such. With weapon diversification I saw alot of mace/willpower tanks run arouns as thor. When the shields come out, expect to see alot of captain americas/us agents out and about.

She looked really good and the powers fit the character well.

I got saved by an empathy defender in steel canyon named Sammy Davis Jr.
He role played it pretty good. I think he was part of an SG named The Rat Pack.
