What is up with the popularity of the Justice server???
Now this isn't a rant or a b*%@h posting...I'm just amazed at how the population has grown on Justice. When I started playing CoH on the release day, it felt like for the first few weeks that I was the only person on the server. (I think Champion server was the first to show a medium and heavy load) I know I wasn't, but, it was strange to run into another hero in the zones. Now, it just blows me away when I sign on and see the Justice is the only one with a medium load or really freaked when I see the 3 red dots of "Don't even try to log in" heavy load. From time to time the rest of the servers always have a medium load and few show a heavy load, but, on a regular basis, Justice is always the over-populated server as of late.
This is just a post basically asking and wondering why the gamers like the Justice server above the rest?

I am on Justice exclusively. There is a reason for it... REFERRALS! My friend who introduced me to the game, and told me to come on Justice. I in turn have recruited two more friends onto the server. So, whichever server becomes intially the most popular will most likely be the most overcrowded. That's just the way of the MMORPG world. At least until they allow server jumping/crossover.

Justice and Freedom are usually the ones I see that have heavy loads. I think Freedom is busy because that was the one they let people save names on during beta. I'm not sure about Justice. Is it the first server in the list when you first install and login to the game?
I've been on Victory lately. It's almost never over 1 "dot". Atlas Park is usually semi-busy, but in the other zones it's usually pretty quiet. I like it.

wow the server most my heroes are on must su$% cause last night it was the only one NOT on medium when I started last night.

From what I was told ( I know, word of mouth is not always right) Justice and Freedom were the first servers on when the game was started. If I am wrong, I apoligize in advance.

Steve, The main reason for the Justice server being crowded is COSTUME CONTESTS. Almost everytime I'm under the Atlas Statue, There is a huge line-up of heroes in a contest of some sort. These contests also pop up in Skyway and in Steel Canyon. Another reason is dance parties. Not the Paragon Dance Pary, just a bunch of heroes dancing in one place.

Hi there!
I've been coming to the site for a while, but just made an ID to post thoughts.
I am exclusive to the Justice Server, only because in my desire to play, I read all the server names and felt I was fighting for 'Justice' not Freedom, or Virtue, etc.
I really like your site, and the all around helpfulness of all who post here!!
When I read the official forums, it can be a real finger pointing show!!
I hear that Justice has a bad rep for being Arrogant, but there are definitely some nice folks there too!!

Heh. As someone who has played on all the servers, trust me when I say this is a matter of perspective. No matter what the opinion is on a server, you will find the same opinions about the others. It all depends on the experience you have on it. I can be on Triumph, and run into nothing but idiots for 3 days, but in another 3 days find nice people all over. It's all about who you run into.
And to reply to an earlier part of this thread, costume contests are EVERYWHERE! Holy smokes, every server I have been on has no shortage. I have quite a few characters that get most of their income from them, it's crazy!

Ok what am I missing here. I have been on Justice for about a year now and i play at least 6 hours a day, about 3 in am and 3 at night time and I have never seen the justice server over 1 dot. Am I hallucinating?

I think Freedom is the most populated server. It's often on medium load. Champoin is next. But I've never seen Justice on medium.

Yeah, I play in the evenings on pacific time and I have only seen Freedom fill all the way up and that was only once or twice.
I guess I must be lucky. I keep missing the big crowds.

I'm on Infinity. I've been on that server since I first started playing COH and COV. It was a busy server till COV came out.

One other draw to the Justice server is the Justice radio people. They are the only server spacific radio group that I know of out there.

you would be correct. that's one of the drawing tools for Justice. Justice does hit the medium load pretty often, as i play almost exclusively on Justice. Like the others have stated, I've seen more than my fair share of costume contests, dance parties, and other senseless gathering ideas that can be thought of. I guess Justice has turned into the social server of sorts. "Come to Justice, hang out, enjoy a nice social setting...oh, you don't have to play the game, just come hang out with us...". LOL

Actually its been a long time since I've seen any of the servers go into the red, but rarely ever in the green. It's almost like its stuck on meduim load indefinately.
Keeping in mind that I mostly always log on in the evenings when the majority of the rest of the players might. I have seen one dot in the mornings when I'm on the late shift. I can't remember the last time I've seen any server go into the red since I5 or I6. In the "Old Days" Seeing several servers going to heavy load on Friday and Saturday nights was common.

Ok so how is it that others see things differently then the rest of us. To hear the above state that all servers are rarely green sparks my interest as I always see them in the green. How is it different? I play at all times of the day so I do catch it.

This has been said earlier, but I just thought I'd elaborate on my perspective.
Initally, when I enetered the game, didn't know anything about the server-specific radio, or which one was the "roleplaying server," or which server had Global Heroics on it, (hint hint), so I, like I assume many others must also have done, chose solely based on the cool sounding names. That being said, I'm based on Infinity and Virtue. I'd agree the most popular is Freedom, probably because a large section of the playerbase was initially attracted to the whole superheroic assosciation of the words "Freedom and Justice," whereas not so many were interested in "Protector," for instance. Understand, I aint dissing Protector, but I have seemed to notice a general trend about the server popularity: The more abstract the noun in question, the more people it seems to attract. :)

I know on Gaurdian the load hardly ever gets past green. Part of that could be because Gaurdian seems to be the server of choice for younger players. Maybe it is just me but the veteran players seem to be leaving this server. Hard to find teams for characters over lvl30. If you do get on team it always seems to be with people that have power leveled their way to the upper rankings and have no idea about gameplay or courtesy. Lots of demands and just rushing into things most nights. Even my SG which used to have 8 to 12 on every weekend seems to be dissapearing. I really wish they would allow us to move toons from server to server. I hate to start over on a different server just to be able to team every once in a while.
