Man everything costs like 20000000 so nobody can buy the new junk. Plus when something is like 450000 some jerk cranks it up to 20000000 in no time at all. Wings are Uncommon? My blue butt. What do you have to have the 15 month vet reward or something?
Ya, I hear ya Wigworm. Unfortunately I'd say we'll have to get used to it, though. These things tend to happen a lot with high-demand things with auction houses. And with all those people that just rake in tons upon tons of little-used influence/infamy with their 50 toons, those prices probably aren't too unreasonable for people at or near 50 (especially for those people who've had a 50 or two for a long time). After all, if they were really unreasonable nobody'd buy them and the sellers would be forced to lower their prices.
Although the prices will most likely level out after some time passes, don't expect them to drop too too much.
Err, more on topic. Those rocket boots do look pretty cool. I'll probably get a pair for a costume for my robot-y blaster (once I start playing him, that is).
only way my toons well ever get those cool boots and other items is if they get another job other that superheroing. Looks like i will need to get a Paragon News Paper for job openings. :P
They have recipes for them that are Uncommon or Rare and you'll have to collect salvage in order to make them. You'll also have to pay a "fee" to build them and if you want to bid on one in an auction house or black market you'll also have to pay a "fee". If you ask me, it's complete and utter crap. Nobody has the time or money to get the recipe, salvage and then pay to make the item or pay to bid on the item and then pay to keep the item.
yeah i had to pay 14 million for them but as mentioned earlier i have had a 50 for a while so 14 mill wasnt that much tp pay. also if u dont have the 15 month badge BUT u get a wings recipe u Can still use it. its kinda like a wing loop hole .lol
As long as this game has gone without an economy like this, the long term players are going to have extensive backstocks of influence to work with. Rare items and recipies are going to go for insane ammounts of influence and thats just how it's gonna be.
Sure, it's hard on the beginning player, but the devs are looking for features to extend account life for long term players that may be getting bored. So a few features in issue releases may cater a bit more to the player with a few Veteran rewards under their belt.
You will also get some players that know the worth of a rare drop and will take advantage of the current economy to make some extra influence.
