Ok well Sapph's been 50 for a few months now, and I've been putting it off.. but here it is... the Build that took me to 50 :)
NOTE: You will not find Deceive on my list... why? Well I found that the people that didn't know the power tended to kill you're deceived at low lvls and then complained when they didn't get XP for their kills...that annoyed me enough to drop that power at the 1st respec and I've never regretted it.
My powers: in no particular order ;)
ILLUSION SET
Spectral Wounds - 3 Dmg, 1 Acc, 2 Recharge Reduction
- An over all useful power, it wil be your bread an butter. Slotted up quickly it makes Soloing a little easier.
Blind - 1 Dmg, 2 Hold Duration, 2 Acc
- Once you add your accuracy you'll be able to hold bigger and badder... bad guys ;) Again very handy for soloing. Trying to kill a bad guy... blind him then chip away with Spectral wounds till he's gone.
Flash - 2 Acc, 2 Hold Duration
- This power doesn't really come into it's own until later lvls when you can take more dmamge. Because of it's need to be in melee range to hit the majority of the mob. You're Flash might miss bosses, which is why it's good to follow up with a blind to the un-locked baddies and then they're controlled. In Teams, this power is great, you can follow the tank or scrapper into Melee range, they take the aggro while you lock them down.
Group Invisability - 3 Defense Buffs
- Seeing as how this is supposed to be a solo build this power makes no sense right?? Wouldn't Superior Invisability make more sense? Well Pre-Issue 4, when you couldn't attack through Superior Invisability it was the logical choice. It's a decent defense power and can be used on Phantasams as well. Making them a bit tougher as well.
Phantom Army - 6 Recharge
- I know 6 recharge seems a bit excessive... BUT this with Hasten allows you Perma-PA... handy in battle, and at Hami Raids ;) Being a nerd I've named my PA Hans, Franz, Helga and Olga.... hey struck me as Swedish... Don't ask me why.
Phantasam - 3 Dmg, 3 Recharge
- Slotted with 3 recharge allows you (with hasten) to have 2 Phantasams constantly, and occasionally a 3rd.... basically you get 3 for about 5 seconds. I've named these Bad Boys the Bing Twins... (Big Invisable Naked Guys)
Superior Invisability - unslotted
- I took Superior Invisability as my last power, because as mentioned before it wasn't able to do the things it does now. I've left it unslotted, cause I haven't played Sapph in a while... so. Now with the changes in Issue 4, this is a nice choice... makes blinky missions easier... and is great for PvP... but... for my actual 50 push... I never used it.
EMPATHY SET
Healing Aura - 6 Heal
- kind of a no brainer... have to be able to heal yourself, and your Phantasams, healing teammates doesn't hurt either.
Heal Other - 6 Heal
- Again great for healing Phant. and Teammates
Rezurrect - 3 Recharge
- Eventually you will end up on teams... simply because of the nature of an empath... this is a required power... I had it at higher lvls... not the low ones. Not sure why... at the time it made sense. :)
Clear Mind - 1 Range
- Incredibly useful power. With all the Mezzers and such at higher lvls, it's a mush have... to bad you can't CM yourself. :)
Fortitude - 2 Recharge, 1 To Hit Buff
- Handy for temmates and for Phant. again wish you could cast it on yourself.
Recovery Aura - 4 Recharge
- Everyone loves RA.
POOL POWERS
Hasten - 4 Recharge
- 4 recharge allows for almost perma Hasten... any more than that and you feel like you're robbing other powers to slot it... and it allows for only about a 15-20 second gap in the hasten. 5 is all that's really needed for "perma" hasten... that way you get like a 5 second or so gap in haten.
Swift - 1 Run Speed
Hurdle - 1 Jump
- Both of these being precursers to Stamina. Why not Health... you have to slot it up too much to make it effective... and you can heal yourself... so why bother?
Stamina - 6 Endurance Recovery
- As a troller/healer you want to be able to heal and do damage at the same time. Illusion Controllers are not as good at CC as other trollers... so we have to pake up for it in damage... that's what the pets are for :)
Hover - 1 Defense
- Great power. I used it as a defense power. Simple as that.
Fly - 2 fly speed
- Not the Fastest mode of transporation, can be skipped for SS since you've got the pool, and recall friend taken in place of hover to make you more team friendly... but for Sapph... she was a flyer so I feel no remorse in taking Fly.
Assult - 3 Endurance Cost
- The Leadership pool is, as far as I'm concerned, a requirement for PA Trollers... you can boost your own damage and accuracy by simply running some powers, and it applies to your team and Phantasams.
Tactics - 1 To Hit Buff, 2 Endurance Cost
- The other requirement of the Leadersiop pool... for a 10% boost... I'll take it. As for Manuvers.... it's replaced by Group Invis. It's a defense buff as well and has no recurring end cost.
EPIC POOL
PRIMAL FORCES MASTERY
I took Primal Forces because of the idead behind my character. My Pets we're using the Energy attacks so why would I have any other power set? There are other nice EP's out there but this is my perfered.
Power Blast - 1 Recharge, 5 Damage
- This was the power that allowed me to crank my Missions all the way up. having 1 more attack made me feel more useful in teams and allowed me to solo better
Conserve Power - 6 Recharge
- Seems redundant after RA... But this power I've found myself using more. When I was soloing it seemed silly to cast RA all the time... with 6 recharge it's almost Perma, and what gap you have in it can be replaced by RA... talk about never running outta end. :)
Temporary Invulnerability - 4 Damage Resistance
- This is why I think I'm so hard to kill. This power never get's turned off. :) I love it.
By the time I hit lvl 42 (when you get your EP's) I had my missions set on Invincable, and I'd soloed Adamaster (the one that Spawns in mission... who is still purple to you) This is not meant to be a completely solo controller... this is (I've been told) and almost ideal build for both soloing and teaming.
