Get rid of them ASAP! They are a threat to the Rogue Isles and Paragon City. In the Rikti War Zone, they have become such a threat that heroes and villains levels 35-50 can team up to help fight the Rikti and prevent them from flying off with their mother ship. The new threats involved with the Rikti invasion include Pylons, which are multi-purpose warning and attack devices surrounding the mother ship. Along with the Pylons come the introduction of Rikti destroyers which deploy Rikti throughout the cities, UXB's (unexlploded bombs) which explode if left unchecked, and Assault Suits.
Some of the new inventions stemming from all this hubbub are obtained in the War Zone and can give access to some pretty cool costume pieces. The special salvage dropped in the War Zone can be used to get a Vanguard Support Machines which is tied to the War Zone but happens to be a awesome pet. The new missions start in the War Zone for level 35's and higher and are gained from Levantera, while a new task force can be started by speaking to Lady Grey, though the restrictions for that are level 45-50.
