Today NCSoft announced something that players have been wanting for quite some time: purchasable power respecifications (respecs)! These can be purchased in the same way as additional character slots through the store on your character selection screen and are priced at $9.99 (U.S.) for one respec for a single character.
Much like other respecs, these allow you to re-choose your character's powers and rearrange and/or sell off your enhancements, even slotted ones. They do not, however, allow you to rechoose your primary or secondary power sets, archetype or origin. They function much like the "earned" respecs in the game in that you must visit a certain contact in order to utilize it. For heroes this is Jack Wolfe in Galaxy City, and for villains it's Arbiter Lupin in Nerva Archipelago.
All the previous methods of gaining a respec are still available. The purchasable respecs just give all of us one more option.
I know NCSoft is anxiously looking at other payment models besides monthly subs that work in the West for a while now, but I kinda hoped they'd go for micro-payments on this kind of stuff, not Big Bleedin' two-third-of-a-month's-playtime-in-money payments.
Well after playing this game for years now my vet rewards are now littered with char respec's. Well if you dont have the vet rewards you can always sign on a taskforce and do one of the 3 respec trials. What an hour and a half is too long for ya? then well you can go buy one at wentworths. Guess the 10$ for a respec is kinda last ditch effort if all your options run out.
