Ever wonder why your cone attacks only hit one bad guy?
Although cones will hit everyone in their AoE (Area of Effect), you need to be aware of the shape of that AoE. If you target the nearest foe, then move toward that foe until you are in range, only the one foe will be in the AoE.
There are three things you can do to get more foes into your cone.
First, try targeting the farthest enemy. That will put nearer enemies inside the cone. If you are in the center of a group, simply target one in front of you, then jump backwards to get the ones behind you into your cone. This is the easiest way to use a broad cone, such as Buckshot or Fist Full of Arrows.
Second, look at how the enemies are arranged. If they are in a line, target the one at one end of the line, move to the other end and fire away. This is the best way to use very narrow cones, such as Flame Breath. You can do this fairly often, as enemies with guns tend to line up into a firing line at the very edge of their range.
Finally, if you have a very small cone (such as Shadow Maul or Flurry), you may need to concentrate your enemies into a very small space. If you can get them to chase you around a corner, they will all stop the moment they have clear sight of you again. This means they will all be standing in about the same spot. Run back up to them and let loose.
