The perfect time for doing your Respecification (respec) is when the next level enhancement becomes available to your character (i.e. when you reach a security level that's 3 levels below the next highest numbered enhancements). For example, use your respec at level 27 just before you buy your new level 30 enhancements. After the respec, you can sell your "old" enhancements back to the store. Since you were about to buy a whole new set, you can sell ALL of the old ones that you had slotted. That will save you some serious influence!
